Look, from what I’ve heard—and honestly, I heard this straight from someone who was actually there—there was absolutely no sexual assault involved. Parangal went out with one of those hardcore gravedigger types from Miami to visit them. They stayed with the group for a few days just messing around. That Miami guy, who—by the way—is pretty active with the Liverpool FC crowd, left (I think) to go to Sarajevo to see Velež Mostar, while Parangal stayed behind with them. After a bit too much drinking and maybe some "other" substances, Parangal suddenly flips this nationalist switch—starting with all that extremist rhetoric—and begins insulting Mance. Those guys were already fed up with hosting him, and then he goes and provokes them by dragging him over to Mance's grave to force him to pay respects. He basically talked trash to them, and they ended up slapping him... Afterwards, they started singing "White Laluna" and, well, that's how the whole legend started.
People always love to throw shade at the Black Knights—even though back during the Parangal days, there weren't even formal leaders yet—but honestly, Parangal had actual heart. They refused to just roll over to the "enemy," even when they were totally outnumbered. This whole fake-tough act the other guys pull? It’s not even a disgrace to us, really... it’s mostly just embarrassing for them.

I suppose that local parade was just a typical gang brawl. It honestly had nothing to do with the Crips, except maybe for those trips to NYC—back then, NYC was basically the heroin capital for them. The only connection between the parade and the Crips is that an entire generation was lost to drugs. Everything else is just myths spread by people like Žare, who is somehow still walking around. If he actually did what he claims regarding the parade, he’d be dealing with some serious medical issues, but I guess myth-making is just what they do. Even if it's about someone like him, he's still their "hero." I know the guy; he was always just a pathetic lowlife living on the edge of the law, and frankly, not much brighter than anyone else. And again, that parade? That guy was never part of the Crips.

I don't think you're quite right. No one raped him, but things definitely happened... regardless, the guy is gone now, and he was a massive Liverpool FC fan.
Anyway, I wanted to touch on that point about leadership. It's total nonsense when certain groups claim they raped a leader of the Crips, but it’s also not true to say "leaders didn't exist back then." I mean, they existed in the exact same way they do today. We really need to define what a "leader" actually is first. In our scene, it's not that leaders didn't exist back then; it's just that we've never had leaders in the way, say, Mexicans view them. Especially those guys over there—it's like North Korea, man. Total military style. If a commander tells them to jump, they ask how high. But if you define a leader as the guys who are always there, the ones doing like 80% of the work for the stands (and the streets), then yeah, leaders definitely existed back then. That late guy from the parade certainly wasn't a leader, though people from that era say he was a regular fixture.
