Does anyone actually know the exact date when Atlanta United FC is playing down in El Paso? Is that game even still happening at all?

placidheron16 said:Honestly, every time we have a meeting, it just results in the same old group of hooligans popping up on the forums or in person. Let me tell you how this actually works. I’ve had enough. This younger generation leading the stands now—they don't want to push the kids forward. Kids are a blessing, but you have to know who is paying the bills. You have to be firm with them. From a young age, they need to learn what it means to live the supporter lifestyle, rather than just letting them drift or letting some other guy boss them around lately. Legend, looking at those photos of you, our young guys aren't looking at anyone the wrong way; if anything, we are hungry for friendship and unity among us. But how can that happen when the "legendary leader" pledges support in front of 100 people at the last meeting, promising to stand with us in the stands, only to show up to the game and mock us? He sits there making jokes along with his "loyal followers," claiming it's too hard for him to come to the stands because the emotions will overwhelm him. He acts like he's saying goodbye to a lifelong friend. We expected so much from him because he's considered a "cult figure." Once his people give their support, then everyone else will follow and we will finally become "US." We won't have this "us vs. them" mentality that keeps repeating. Once individual egos are minimized and the ego trips die down, then we can actually start over... but those are just two small details in this whole circus.

Amen!!!
And can someone please explain to me how anyone can find the will to communicate with people who think the Black Knights are Barbra Streisand? It’s not because I or anyone else is brainwashed or because it's some forced opinion. No, it's simply because common sense dictates it.
To everyone who thinks everything happening here is the result of some forced narrative: you need to learn how to distinguish between personal interest and the common good. The first requirement for a constructive discussion is using your own brain and thinking for yourself. Don't let others put words in your mouth; be the architect of your own thoughts, even if you end up being 200% wrong.

Frank Kim26 said:here is the issue, about 70% of people in this city—who, by the way, aren't even part of the Black Knights—think they know what's best. They act like they belong when they don't. I say this: if you aren't 100% involved, then don't comment on changes. Don't say things shouldn't have happened. Just show up, get in the stands, wave a flag, or help with the choreography. That's basically it.🤷

I don't see the problem. Whether they support Atlanta United FC, whether they show up, or whether they sit on the North Side, why can't they have an opinion? You or anyone else doesn't have to agree with them. What is the point of a forum if we all think exactly the same thing?

It is obvious nothing smart will be settled here. That is why the stands exist. That is why the supporters club exists. Let people write whatever they want. As long as they aren't being insulting or belittling, who cares?

I also don't understand how someone can be "100% involved" like you claim without ever getting into a fight. To some, wearing a Black Knights shirt is the peak. To others, the height of being a supporter is throwing stones. Most people fall into that second category.
I am still confused by those official statements, like the one after the Zenit match. It makes you wonder if this is a community center or an ultra group.
I remember an away game where just five guys were carrying four massive banners.

In a city like this, you can't even find 40 people willing to step up for a fair fight.☕

This isn't being forced on certain people, and they deserve respect.
That is my opinion. Agree or disagree, it doesn't matter to me. You can delete it right now if you want.☕

Anyone who puts a football club or any other sports team above everything else in their life seriously needs to see a psychiatrist. If you think being 40 years old means you can still act like a die-hard 20-year-old fanatic, you’ve got some major emotional issues. That’s where all the trouble starts—a massive ego paired with zero actual ability.

I also don't get how someone can be "100% in" like you say without ever getting in a single fight... thinking a team t-shirt is the peak of fandom or throwing rocks is the height of being a supporter... most of "YOUR" crowd is just like that.
Those press releases after the Zenit game were weird too, makes you wonder if this is a KUD or some random street gang...
I still remember that away game where five guys were carrying four massive banners...

You couldn't even pull 40 people together in a small town like this who'd actually stand their ground in a fair fight...☕

This stuff shouldn't be forced on certain people, and honestly, good for them!!
That's just my take, agree or don't, I don't care... feel free to delete it right now!☕

You're missing the point... those types will go around town spreading rumors when they don't actually know what's happening or heard it third-hand (not talking about this guy specifically, and not saying everyone is like that—don't want to offend anyone—but I mean the ones in his circle who just muddy the waters)... they can have an opinion, but maybe keep it to themselves... I know a few guys who aren't "all in" but always show up in the North stands or travel to away games, so it never crosses their minds to jump into debates about what the Black Knights should or shouldn't do, especially not on the main Black Knights thread... but clearly we see things differently... won't comment on the rest...

Frank Kim26 - Just try to picture what the stands—the entire group, really—would actually look like if we hypothetically purged all these "half-hearted fans." It would end up looking exactly like what the casual crowd has now. I honestly can't see who this benefits. These people are absolutely necessary and more than welcome here. Yet, you’re going so far in disparaging them that you wouldn't even allow for basic freedom of opinion.

And look, I’ll tell you straight up how things actually ought to work because, frankly, I'm fed up with all of this!! This younger crowd running the stands right now... they don't want to take the kids under their wing. Look, kids are great, but you have to know who's footing the bill and who's pulling the strings. You've got to be firm with the kids—from day one, they need to learn what it means to live the supporter lifestyle, instead of doing what they've done lately—just acting like daddy's little helpers and letting some other guy boss them around!! Legend, what even is that happening in the photos? Our young guys aren't looking at anyone the wrong way; if anything, we're actually craving that brotherhood and friendship among us. But how? How can we, when that legendary leader promises support in front of 100 people at the last meeting—vowing he'll stand right there with us in the stands and cheer—only to show up at the game and spend the whole time mocking us? He sits there making jokes along with his "inner circle," claiming it's too hard for him to come into the stands because the emotions will just overwhelm him. He's acting like a washed-up veteran saying goodbye to his favorite local dive bar!!! That's why I've lost all respect for him—because he's treated like some "cult icon" by people. When he gives his blessing, his followers follow, and then the rest of us are just left behind. We won't be a "we" anymore; it'll just be "us vs. them," which is exactly what keeps being repeated. Once those individual egos shrink to a minimum and that massive ego trip finally crashes and burns, then maybe we can actually start over... but hey, those are just two tiny details in this whole circus!!

👋 👋 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏

That's the bottom line!! That’s exactly why I wrote "death to the ego trip"... for some people, protecting their own backside is more important than the success of our legendary group from back in '62!
The guy went from being a respected figure to a total clown.

To be perfectly blunt, I’ve had enough of all of you. This younger crowd running the stands right now—they don't want to involve the kids. Look, the kids are great, but there has to be an understanding of who is actually footing the bill and making things happen. You have to be firm with the younger generation; you need to teach them from day one what it actually means to live this lifestyle, rather than letting them act like children over the last few years, just sitting there while other groups try to boss them around. And hey, legend, looking at those photos of yours, our young guys aren't looking at anyone with any kind of malice; if anything, we're actually craving some friendship and solidarity among us. But how can that happen when that legendary leader promises full support in front of a hundred people at the last meeting, saying he’ll stand with us in the stands, only to show up to the game and spend the whole time mocking us alongside his little inner circle? He claims it’s too hard for him to come to the stands because the emotions will overwhelm him—he’s acting like a washed-up veteran retiring from the pros. My respect for him evaporated once I realized he’s treated like a cult icon. If we have to wait for his followers to give their blessing before the rest of us can actually become "us," then the concept of "us vs. them" will just keep repeating forever. We can only truly start fresh once individual egos are minimized and these ego trips finally crash and burn... but those are just two minor details in this entire circus.

I used to defend him in some of my posts back before the big matchup in Chicago, but seeing him just sitting there in the stands while the guys are out there grinding...

The energy is gone, just pure disappointment. Plus, everyone keeps mentioning the mocking behavior, but I don't know. It's crazy that one single person can hold this much weight, seriously...

If this isn't what the forum is about, then just delete it.

I’d love to see this play out during the next game against the LA Chargers mmmmmmm

You have to be firm with the youth, teach them from day one how to live the supporter lifestyle, instead of just playing babysitter for the last few years and letting some other guy take credit for them!!

Look, this new crowd doesn't respect the hierarchy. They didn't bother asking the right people; they went behind everyone's back, and now they're begging for support. It's hypocritical. And what happens in two, five, ten years when a new batch of "smart" kids comes along and pulls the same stunts behind their backs? I hope you see my point.

when that legendary leader... there goes the dream because he's a "cult figure" to people. When he gives his support, his followers will follow. Then we'll just be "them" instead of "us." That division keeps happening. Once those individual egos shrink to nothing and the ego trips die down, then maybe we can actually start over.

Your brains have been washed by this "cult of personality" nonsense. You think nobody was in the stands before him? Are we all just sheep without brains following him around? Understand that he isn't the point; other things matter. If he offers public support, I won't give it to you just because he backed someone. I don't care about that. I'll give maximum support when you prove you know what you're doing—when you show that your actions bring actual value to the group, not just change for the sake of change or personal ego trips. I told you clearly, almost begged you, but you couldn't manage it for even ten days. Why? Is it pride, or are you just incapable? Or did you dump everything on one man, and now that he's gone, you're lost? You blame us for the division, yet we offered a hand on the condition that certain things be clarified. Did you honestly think you were created by God's will to lead the group while the rest of us just blindly accept your "visions" without knowing what they actually are?
One final piece of advice. In situations like this, go directly to the other side and ask what you need to know. Don't rely on one or two guys to pass info to you. They might forget something, misunderstand, or if they're being malicious, leave things out. Either way, you end up missing key information.
I've written more than necessary here, but whatever, since everyone thinks they know everything, let them read this too. I'm sick of all the crap about kids, casual fans, fights, and cheering that has absolutely nothing to do with the core issue. Everyone talks big about being ultras, but half of them haven't a clue what they're talking about!

The moment a respected figure acts like this, they just become a clown.

Me and my buddy were talking about this a long time ago. We said once he finally steps down from his position, we won't ever have to deal with seeing this kind of thing at a game again.

And what’s with all this talk about "half-fans" lately? They are supporters just like anyone else, and at the end of the day, we all share that same love for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

You didn't say it explicitly, but one could certainly interpret the sentiment that they "have nothing left to complain about" regarding the group's business affairs—at least, if you take their opinion at face value.
I maintain the belief that our shared devotion to the Los Angeles Dodgers is exactly what keeps us unified. What I find exhausting, however, is this rigid, constant tribalism—this endless labeling of who belongs and who doesn't, or categorizing people into "us versus them," like some outdated Western movie trope. If we are all here to show our support, then let people express it differently; one person might cheer loudly while another stays quiet, and that’s perfectly fine. To me, that diversity of expression is precisely what makes the Red Sox faithful so special and unique.

I agree that we all love the Dodgers equally, that's what keeps us together. It just bugs me how people try to split us up into different cliques—us versus them, this group versus that group, cowboys versus Indians, hardcores versus casuals. If we're all here to show support, one person does it one way, another does it their own way, and that's fine by me. To me, that's what makes the Red Sox faithful so special and unique...

I mean, seriously, do you really think there weren't people in the stands way before he even showed up? Are we all just mindless sheep or something? Like, we just let him lead us because we don't have brains? You gotta realize it’s not about him—it’s about other things! If he gives his public support to someone, I’m not gonna give him mine just because he backed a certain person. I don't care about that stuff! I'll give my full support the very second you convince me that you actually know what you're doing and that your work is going to bring some real, high-quality dimension to the group, instead of just making changes for the sake of change or some individual's ego trip. And honestly, you said it pretty well—I might even say I'm begging you—but you guys just can't seem to pull it together for even ten days. Why? Is it because it hurts your feelings, or are you just incapable? Or maybe you put everything on one guy's shoulders, and now that he's gone, you're stuck? Or did you honestly think you were created by God's will to lead the group, and we'd all just nod along to these "visionaries" without ever knowing what their actual visions are?

Who are YOU, and who are THEY?

That guy who isn't here right now? He's a true fan. And no, I didn't just jump to that conclusion—it's my opinion based on seeing his actions, whereas most of you have given me nothing but empty words. 😍

Once "You and THEY" (as you call yourselves) realize that the Chicago Bulls fans aren't some marketing firm centered around money—which, let's face it, is what everyone cares about 🙄—and that the club isn't just a membership drive but a place to hang out and meet people, then maybe we can actually talk about a real supporter movement!

Casual fans have never been the problem. Thank God we have them; we should always have them. The problem lies within us—we don't have a cohesive fan group, just a bunch of individuals, as you've already proven over the last ten pages.

That's it. I'm done commenting on any fan topics! 😉

p.s. Honestly, it's pathetic to see so many of us on this forum instead of heading out to a major game. 🙂

They can have an opinion, sure, but they should keep it to themselves. I know a few guys who aren't "core" members but show up at the North Stand regularly and travel to away games; it never even crosses their minds to jump into debates about what belongs in the Chicago Bulls fans or what shouldn't be, let alone posting on a thread dedicated to the Chicago Bulls fans. But clearly, we see things differently. I won't comment on anything else.

Why shouldn't I be allowed to voice my own opinion? I'm not part of the inner circle or the "hardcore" crew. But this is a group I love, a group I've paid dues to for years, and I care deeply about seeing it become the best it can be. This is a group where I know every single message sent over the last decade, every choreo, which games had the loudest support and which were quieter, and where we showed up in force for away matches and where we didn't. It's a group I stand with in the stands, both at home and on the road. I've watched countless home games with them, traveled to almost every MLS stadium, and several European trips. This is a group I feel a sense of solidarity with; even though I wasn't in Cincinnati, I was there $33 when the legal defense fund was being organized. This is a group whose songs I know by heart and find myself humming every single day.
And honestly, I feel like a part of this group. Regardless of what the "real" members think about it. If I didn't feel that connection, you can bet I wouldn't bother writing a damn thing, because I wouldn't give a crap. I write because I care, not because I have nothing better to do and want to come here to act like a jerk.

But fine, I don't need validation to be called a Chicago Bulls fan. I couldn't care less. However, if fans like me aren't considered part of the Chicago Bulls fans (and I make up about 70% of the ultra atmosphere), then please, do us a favor: whenever you see videos, photos, or reports saying "The Chicago Bulls fans cheered fantastically" or "The Red Sox faithful win the final battle," go ahead and strip that "Chicago Bulls fans" label off. It's hard to believe a mere 200 people could create that kind of hellish atmosphere on their own.

I see how the "true" fans look at the rest of us. Like we're a necessary evil. If they didn't need us to pull off the choreo or boost the noise, they would have kicked us out of the North Stand ages ago. Instead, they let us stay, provided we don't cause too much trouble.

Just don't come crying later when some other local gang outshouts us in Miami, wondering how to motivate these "half-fans" to cheer after you've spent all this time belittling them.

That’s pretty much the gist of it. Honestly, these current divisions will vanish once the younger guys step up and take charge of the stands. People will realize it's time to move on. I really hope those kids can pull it off.
As for Lekic—people are talking a lot of trash about him right now, but whatever. When things go south, I'm always the first one to call him out. Ever since his move to Cincinnati, he's actually been the biggest supporter because everyone else was busy looking the other way. And look, if he were truly the jerk people claim he is, he wouldn't even bother showing up anymore after being moved. People just love to mock the new guys; it's just how we are. Sudden leadership changes always turn out messy like this. But if the new crew proves they can lead the crowd and handle business, nobody is going to care about Lekic ever again, let alone worry about these internal splits.
