mistybear87 said:Look, I'm not trying to start anything; it’s just funny watching the McLaren crowd act like they've been betrayed on every single level because of Button. 🤣🤣 🤣

I’ve got nothing to complain about, I’m just done with Formula 1. The only driver I actually care about being there isn't going to be the lead driver, and that’s a dealbreaker for me. Plus, seeing him stuck in the same team as Alonso? No thanks. 🤦

Used to be, but definitely not anymore.

Is there anything more disappointing than watching a team simply mimic its rivals instead of pursuing its own technical breakthroughs?
For a powerhouse like Ferrari, one would expect a roster of engineers capable of pioneering original solutions rather than merely scavenging ideas from the competition.
One can only wonder what kind of ingenuity Red Bull Racing will bring to the table for the 2012 season; currently, it appears Ferrari is playing catch-up to everyone else when it comes to true innovation. 🤣
I can only hope that this pattern of "copying" doesn't result in a disaster similar to that time McLaren tried to replicate the Ferrari design.

I have to say, I don't think your point quite holds up. Is the pullrod really such a revolutionary concept that only Red Bull could conceive? It’s been around for years, if not decades—it's simply a matter of how it's applied in Formula 1.
Williams uses a pullrod system too, mainly because they needed to keep the rear end compact. Honestly, any team aiming to slim down their rear packaging is going to have to use a pullrod system. There isn't really a third option, is there?

In a few years, everyone will likely be using compact gearboxes similar to what Williams is running this year, and no one will be complaining about "copying" then. It's just the natural evolution of the race car. We saw it with exhaust designs, the bargeboards, the nose shapes, and so on...

It’s pretty obvious you don't follow soccer, so you clearly haven't encountered Gill's legendary trolling spree yet. ☕

I'm a die-hard Formula 1 fan; I might wander off to check out other things here and there, but my heart is mostly with the sport. 😬

But hey, thanks for the heads-up. 😉

And here we have one, the self-proclaimed "Formula 1 expert" has arrived to grace us with his wisdom. 🙂
Shall we pivot our focus toward the beautiful game?
Is there any single domain in which I lack expertise?

stormybadger8 said:It wasn't the primary reason, whoever told you that 🤦, but damn it, it's not insignificant like some people claim either.☕

This season, he's the one responsible for the results—way more than last year. I don't care what anyone says, he's only got two other podiums this season, and just five third-place finishes in a dominant car where Vettel has 8 wins and 12 total podiums.

If last year's title contender only grabbed 7 podiums in total, the car is the only reason Vettel won the championship. Think whatever you want, 🙄

I wasn't talking about the main reason, just the most significant role... which is actually quite a distinction.
And regarding roles: since you mentioned that Adrian Newey has been at Red Bull since 2006—throwing out all those points totals that support Vettel—and pointed out that Newey was at McLaren and they didn't achieve anything useful there, I think it's clear you were implying that Vettel played the leading role in all of this. I have to disagree, though... he played an important role, sure, but not the leading one.
Anyway, it doesn't matter—this thread is supposed to be about Singapore, so let's get back to that.
Unfortunately, I don't have a great feeling about how things will go for Kamui Kobayashi and Nico Rosberg...

Alright fine, let's just say we weren't on the same page and leave it at that.🙂

Hmm, why? Personally, I think Kamui Kobayashi could be really, really good here. Plus, this track should suit Sauber perfectly, right?🤷

Oh, what happened to all the fun content?! Did the Rain-induced mood swings just hit a massive new level? 😁

Sorry for going off-topic, but I honestly didn't know where else to ask.

Bernie is out there building tracks all over the globe, doesn't even matter where, just so these guys have enough cash to put on some big show. And with all that money, they can do pretty much anything except build an actual racetrack that works for racing. 🤦 🤦

All that matters is having the yachts, the celebrities, the models, and lights so bright you'd think it was high noon... ☕ 🤦

For crying out loud, how the hell did they not have this fixed already?🙄

It’s already 6:00 PM

What on earth were they even doing until 6:00 PM anyway? 🙄

You really want to limit Formula 1 to just Europe?

Nah, man, he’s saying we should limit Formula 1 to actual, legitimate racing circuits instead of those absolute garbage tracks Tilke keeps churning out
