Why did my post count go down?

Taylor Swift, you hit the nail on the head. I’m well aware that moderators tend to scrub certain posts from the board now and then, but seeing a hundred of them vanish feels like a bit of an overkill 🤣

Honestly, looking at your posts, you’ve got enough ammunition there to get a permanent ban. I wasn't lucky enough to get that kind of treatment myself.
Now I'm actually a little jealous! 😠

Honestly, who cares about the post count when the math is this broken? They’re counting every single little chat thread on the subforums plus all the small talk in the lounge, so you end up with someone looking like they have 23,000 posts just because they hang out in those threads exclusively. Plus, once a chat gets locked, it doesn't even move to the archive, so the numbers are just totally skewed.

Some people go for volume, others bet everything on quality—does it even matter?

Yeah, but someone who isn't following this stuff sees a username and a count of 23,000 posts and thinks, "Holy crap, this guy is a total forum legend," when in reality he's probably only got 230 actual decent posts

What the hell is going on? My post count dropped from over 1,500 down to like 250 in just two months because I haven't been hanging out here much lately😢 I mean, who cares, right? But honestly, why even bother slashing them? Some threads have posting limits for people with lower counts, so if I lose another 250 posts, how am I supposed to complain about the forum eating my history when I can't even access half the topics? Are we suddenly unwanted just because we aren't cluttering up 750 different threads? I’d much rather actually contribute something meaningful to a single discussion than spam every single board with some half-baked thought just to keep a number up... Is this because I'm not active every single day? I don't get it...

There was a huge panic about inappropriate links about ten days ago, so they wiped out a ton of threads, mostly from the chat sections. 🙂

Is it okay to vent here about how much this is driving me crazy? Because if it is... yeah, I'm pissed. This whole move toward a forum dictatorship, deleting everything like some regressive censors, and wiping my own posts just because someone else posted something forbidden... 😠

It feels ridiculous having to start an entirely new thread just to say three sentences about what's bothering me. 😉 If complaining about this is against the rules, then go ahead and delete this post too. 😁
