I didn't say they were lacking anything at all, honestly—I actually listen to them myself every now and then
it's just that there isn't really anything super heavy or brutal in their stuff, which is kind of what this thread is supposed to be about, 🙂

Maybe we just have different definitions of "brutal." For me, the lyrics are the most important part. You could have an accordion playing in the background for all I care... as long as it hits hard enough!

To me, anything that breaks away from how 90% of people think is brutal. I'm talking about ditching that sugary-sweet, mainstream pop stuff with those cheesy lyrics...

For some folks, "brutal" only means death metal with satanic themes and vocals that sound like someone scraping a metal spatula against a wall...

That’s why I posted such a huge variety of genres in my opening post...

Basically, if it provokes someone from the "mainstream mass," I find it brutal. Lately, I've been busy provoking those romantic types with the little mustaches...

btw when it comes to black metal, the lyrics are mostly filled with satanic themes, but you don't really see that as much in death metal 😉

👍 It’s a solid effort, just like everything else he puts out, but personally, I find Hard Time Killin' to be much more visceral—though perhaps that’s just because it was the first thing I ever heard from him.
