Medical Needles

Does anyone know which pharmacy in Washington, D.C. actually sells medical needles? I popped into one today and walked out empty-handed. After they interrogated me about my "intended purpose"—followed by that classic, judgmental little side-eye from the ladies behind the counter—they decided they won't sell them without a prescription. So, was I just being played, or is it actually impossible to get them?

So, does absolutely nobody have a clue?

You can pick them up at any CVS or Walgreens, you just have to know exactly what you're looking for. If you just walk in asking for "medical needles," you're going to have a bad time because they don't know what you mean. You’ve got subcutaneous vs. intramuscular, and they vary by length and gauge. You need to be specific. Plus, there are all those different ones meant specifically for insulin pens and whatnot.

You can find them at the local pharmacy right by George Washington Square.
They also carry them at the Paul pharmacy over on Under the Wall Street.
I actually picked up a handy construction tip recently: if you’ve got woodworms boring into your woodwork, the best way to take them out is to inject the treatment directly into the wood using a syringe and a needle.
So, I headed down to the drugstore, explained my little situation, grabbed two units, and managed to get rid of those pests for good.
Honestly, the cost of the needles was peanuts.

Prescription only, haha! Those pharmacists are truly out of their minds.
I was recently picking up some nasal rinse solution, and the liquid inside the bottle is basically impossible to get out without using a syringe and a needle. I asked for everything quite plainly and received it all without any judgment. Aside from the solution itself, they didn't even hand over a single $0.33! 🙂

You don't even need a prescription for this. Besides local pharmacies, you can pick them up right at the Mayo Clinic.
