They've been dropping too many points in "small" games for my liking, so I don't see them having any shot at the title this year..

Look, if we're talking pure results, I'd go X2 on Juve. I doubt they lose—they'll either grind out a draw or just take the win...
And I wasn't taking that bet for granted. I just meant if I *were* betting on that specific match (which I'm not, since I'm sticking strictly to Champions League today), I'd put everything on Bologna scoring a goal (1.50)...

Correction on Apoel-Lyon: things played out exactly how we expected. Apoel moves on. Heart and grit beat out deep pockets again, just like they did against their previous opponents.
Bologna-Juventus: both teams to score, though it might take a while to see it happen. 😁

Metalist-Olympiacos 1x
I don't buy the Greeks winning in Europe again right after Kazan. Metalist looks solid; they're neck-and-neck with DynK and Shakt in the league, and they've historically bullied teams in Europe lately (look at RB Salzburg). They score plenty, so I don't see them failing to handle the Greeks. A home win or draw isn't a bad shout. Maybe even over 2.5 goals.

Sporting L-Manchester City 2
I’ll go out on a limb here without any hesitation. This Sporting side just doesn't inspire confidence, whereas Mancinijev's squad has the depth and the bench to get the job done if they need to. Sporting might grab a goal, but I expect City to put two or three past them. The way City absolutely dismantled Porto shows they aren't taking this "consolation league" lightly. You could pair a City win with both teams to score, because even with a tight defense, City plays an open game that leaves gaps.

Manchester United-Athletic Bilbao 1
After beating Tottenham, I think United can pull this one off in style. Honestly, the Basques just lack the quality, though I'm betting with a healthy dose of skepticism. Even though that win gave them a boost, the Devils showed they're on shaky ground despite cruising through the Premiership this year. They can't afford to leave things hanging for the return leg. Ultimately, they have the experience, the tactical intelligence, and the muscle—even with guys in their late 30s. Their transition play is surgical and they have the finishers to make it count. They aren't about to let anyone else march through the UEFA Cup while they sit on the sidelines.

The rest are just gut feelings.

Noticing nobody’s posting anything today, so I’ll just jump straight to Saturday. Two slips: daytime and evening.
Daytime 2.26

Atromitos AT-Doxa Dramas 1 1.45
Atromitos is fighting for Europe this season. They’re coming off three straight wins. At home, they’ve got 7 wins, 3 draws, and 1 loss out of 11 matches. Doxa is basically the worst team in the league; they’ve managed only 4 points from 11 away games. They look slightly better at home, but most of those points came against teams at the bottom of the table. Their last game was a loss to 13th-place Giannina.

NK Lučko-Dinamo 2 1.30
Lučko is sitting at the bottom of the table. I don't see them taking anything from Dinamo, especially since Dinamo wants to secure a solid lead before the derby. Even if I miss, I won't cry about it 😍 .

Hajduk Split-NK Split 1X 1.20
Watched Hajduk against Chicago recently; they played great. Split had a sluggish start to the season—Lučko actually took points from them in their last home game. This is a derby, so the players will be motivated. A Split surprise is possible, but I don't see them getting more than a draw.

After dropping out of Europe, the Porto squad can focus entirely on the league, so the schedule isn't as grueling. They have a 3-point cushion over Benfica and are just waiting for Benfica to slip up. They're facing 10th-place Academica, who haven't won in nine matches. At home, Porto has covered the handicap in every game except against Benfica and Braga.

USC Palermo-AS Rom Palermo Palermo to score 1.30
Both teams are in a bit of a slump. Palermo was outclassed away at Siena, then lost at home to Milan. Rom was crushed 4-1 by Atalanta and then lost the derby to Lazio 2-1. I think this is the best value pick because Palermo is a strong home side. Out of 34 total points, 30 came at home. They’ve scored against everyone at home except Milan, but Milan is in a league of their own right now. Rom has been conceding quite a few goals this season, especially on the road.

Heerenven-SBV Excelsior 1 1.20
It's crowded at the top of the Eredivisie. Six clubs are within five points of each other. Our Heerenven is currently in 5th and keeps improving. Every match matters now, and I don't think they'll pass up a chance against bottom-feeder Excelsior. Excelsior has only picked up 3 points away this season (all draws). Everything else was a loss via handicap. They're basically a punching bag.

Real Madrid is having an absolutely killer season. They’ve built up this massive cushion ahead of FC Barcelona, and honestly, I think winning the Premier League title matters way more to them right now than the Champions League—they just want to finally knock Barca off their perch. I’m pretty sure a win is the only thing on their minds; they aren't about to give Barca any hope, because if they let them back in, suddenly the title race gets messy again. As for LA Galaxy, after that hot start, they've kind of landed exactly where everyone expected—somewhere in the middle of the pack, nowhere near a relegation scrap but also nowhere near European spots. LA Galaxy's current form is 2-1-3, while Real Madrid is sitting at a perfect 6-0-0, and I’m expecting that streak to keep rolling tomorrow. They might rest a starter since they have that big match against CSKA Moscow coming up, but their bench is so deep I don't see why they wouldn't pull this off.

Bolton Wanderers - Queens Park Rangers Over 2.5 Goals: NO @1.50

Both these sides are currently locked in a desperate fight to stay up, so I really don't see them opening things up early. A quick goal conceded would be a total shock for either side. Bolton is practically dead last and is desperately hunting for points to escape the drop zone, while Queens Park Rangers is just trying to keep their heads above water and avoid falling into the red zone. Both teams are struggling to find the net, usually averaging maybe one goal per game, while Bolton tends to concede about two, and Queens Park Rangers gives up around 1.7. I’m leaning toward a low-scoring affair, maybe something like 0-1 or 1-0.

The league leaders, Dinamo Chicago, are heading out to face NK Lučko, a team that's been pretty toothless lately and is fighting hard just to survive. For NK Lučko, grabbing even a single point here would feel like a massive victory. I mean, I don't think they can hold out for the full 90 minutes, but I also don't see this turning into some crazy shootout. They'll probably benefit from being rested after Dinamo Chicago had to deal with those grueling extra time and penalty rounds in the cup. Dinamo probably just wants to get in, get the win, and get out. I'm not seeing anything much bigger than a 2-0 result here, and the odds are 😍

All those high odds failed. Once again, UEFA proves they can be even more ruthless than the Champions League.

Montpellier HSC vs Cean 11/3/2012 21:00 1 1,50 SS Montpellier is looking sharp right now—they've picked up four wins and a draw in their last five home outings. On the flip side, Cean has been struggling significantly on the road. Given how much this match matters for the home side's push for first place, I don't see much for the visitors to grab here.

A few quick thoughts before Zadar vs Inter kicks off

Both sides have been absolutely terrible this part of the season, so I really don't expect anything resembling decent football at Stanovi today... Zadar is basically playing without a striker since Santini left, especially with Mršić suspended, four guys out with injuries, and the rest of the squad just looking totally lost...
On the flip side, you've got Inter, who got hammered in both their appearances last spring, so they're looking to redeem themselves against Zadar in Stanovi, which is never going to be an easy task... Inter is also missing some key pieces right now...
If you ask me, betting on a draw feels like the move here, given the odds are sitting around 3.30 depending on which sportsbook you're using...

Lyon vs Lille 2 3.05
Lyon hasn't managed a single win in their last five league outings, and to make matters worse, they even suffered a heartbreaking loss against APOEL in the Champions League after extra time. On the flip side, Lille has had some much-needed downtime to rest and gear up specifically for this matchup. Honestly, looking at those odds, I really think it’s worth taking a shot on Lille here!

Toulouse FC vs Lorient 1.80
It really just comes down to pure momentum and sheer quality here—Toulouse, along with Brest, are basically running a clinic on defense and giving up the fewest goals in all of Ligue 1... and when they're playing at home? They’re sitting pretty at 8-3-2.
Meanwhile, Lorient is absolutely drowning right now. Their form is garbage—four straight losses in the bag—and they’ve only managed to find the back of the net three times in their last five matches. Honestly, they haven't seen a win in 11 games.
Facing off against one of the toughest defenses in Ligue 1 today? I seriously doubt they’ll even get a sniff of a goal... especially since they're missing six players due to injury, and the big one is Alaixys Romano.
Toulouse is cooking, they're hungry, and that rock-solid defense is a massive reality check for anyone facing them. It's all pointing to the home side having the upper hand.

Earlier this season, we saw a Blackburn vs Wolves 1-2 result, but looking back, the previous two matchups were a Wolves vs Blackburn 3-0 and a Blackburn vs Wolves 2-3. Total madness.

Both of these squads are basically built for high-scoring affairs.
Peterborough United always looks like they're playing "all out attack" regardless of who they're facing—just look at that goal difference of 51:56. In fact, only Ipswich Town has a higher average of goals per game than them.
Blackpool is fighting tooth and nail for that playoff spot, and they’ve been scoring plenty on the road with 31 goals scored and 30 conceded. Over 14 of their 18 games this season have averaged at least 2.5 goals.
Today's matchup between these two smells like a goal fest... definitely expecting plenty of action.

Everton vs Tottenham over 2.5 goals

After those two rough losses against Arsenal and Manchester United, heading out to face Everton doesn't sound exactly like a walk in the park. But honestly, looking at how they've been playing so far this season and just how much firepower these squads actually have... I'm feeling like the over 2.5 goals line is a pretty solid bet worth following...

Most of our local books dumped this into a super/bonus parlay, probably because of Real Madrid's Champions League match next week. But knowing how Jose Mourinho operates and the sheer talent in that locker room, another win for Real shouldn't be an issue.
They're rolling out a full-strength lineup tonight.
LA Galaxy has been dropping games at home against sides like Rayo Vallecano, Granada CF, Real Sociedad, and Levante UD... so why wouldn't they struggle against Real Madrid tonight too? 🙂

Palermo vs AS Roma 1 @ 2.7 - confidence 8/10

Look, even though Palermo played like absolute garbage against AC Milan last weekend, they aren't actually as bad as the scoreline suggests—they have this knack for making life difficult for the big clubs.
Both sides are dealing with some defensive holes right now, but honestly, Palermo is looking much more stable in that department.
I really think Palermo can capitalize on this advantage. They’ve got a lightning-fast, clinical duo up front with Budan (6 goals) and Miccoli (11 goals)—they'll be feeding off Eran Zahavi early on, and then Hernandez joins the party after his three-game layoff.
As for AS Roma, they're rolling out Borini-Totti-Lamela. The thing is, Borini is the only one who's actually produced anything significant lately, leading the scoring with 8 goals. Totti, sitting at 4 goals, hasn't looked great since that muscle injury.
My gut says Palermo will find a way to exploit this. They've proven time and again they can hang with the heavyweights, and after getting crushed in their last two matches, they're going to be playing with a massive chip on their shoulder.

Reka mentioned waiting until after the first round concludes, but I simply cannot resist the allure of today's matchup...

Kashiwa holds the distinction of being the first club in history to secure promotion from the second tier and immediately clinch the top flight title the following year, though defending that crown will be anything but effortless. A major factor here is their commitment to the Asian league championship, and frankly, I suspect Kashiwa won't be able to maintain high intensity across all fronts simultaneously. Coach Nelsinho claims he is satisfied with the squad's current state. The last time these two sides faced off and saw more than two goals scored was three years ago in a 3-3 thriller...

We've got a Week 21 matchup in the American first division happening today between the home side, Detroit Tigers, and their visitors, the Detroit Pistons. Right now, the Tigers are sitting comfortably in 8th place with a 7-8-5 record and a goal differential of 18:16, while the Pistons are hanging out in 11th with a 6-5-9 record and a goal differential of 24:22.
The reason I’m eyeing this specific bet is honestly because these two squads have been the absolute kings of drawing at the half throughout the entire league.
If you look at the numbers, the Tigers have seen 14 draws at halftime over their last 20 games, alongside 4 wins and 2 losses, and the Pistons are looking pretty much identical to them with a 4-14-2 split.
When we zoom in on home versus away splits, the Tigers show a half-time record of 2-8-0 at home with a +3 goal difference, whereas the Pistons have gone 0-8-2 on the road with a -3 goal difference.
It's pretty clear both teams love to play a tight, defensive style, which is basically the perfect recipe for these kinds of half-time scores. Looking back at the last three times these two clubs faced off, this exact pick hit quite easily. I really think it’s worth a shot here, especially since some other US sportsbooks are only offering odds around 1.45 for this outcome.
