Philadelphia Union- Manchester City 1X @2.35 parlay

The Philadelphia Union are incredibly tough to beat at home; this season, only Manchester United and Norwich City have managed to walk away with all three points on their turf. Unlike the Citizens, who absolutely need this win, the Union are heading into this match without any real pressure since they sit a comfortable 11 points clear of the relegation zone. Plus, City played Sporting CP this past Thursday, so fatigue might start creeping in—and let's face it, their away form usually isn't nearly as sharp as when they're playing at home.

Newark vs. Udinese, first goal by Udinese @ 1.9 Lottery

Basically, looking at the stats, Newark is pretty much struggling the most in the league when it comes to striking first—they've only managed to open the scoring just three times out of their last 26 matches (3-26). On the flip side, Udinese's opponents have only beaten them to that first goal three times as well (3-26). Since Udinese has been the team opening the scoring more than anyone else this season (18-26), I really feel like it’s worth taking a shot on this bet.

Bayern Munich-FC Basel 4 or more goals @2.1 SS

Even though the last game ended just 1-0 for Basel, it easily could have been a 3-3 thriller if you look at the chances both sides created. Both teams clearly favor an attacking style of play anyway, and it looks like Bayern Munich has moved past their little slump after absolutely crushing Hoffenheim 7-1 this past Saturday. Honestly, in my opinion, this over shouldn't even be a question.

Bayern Munich-FC Basel f+2 1.65
6/10

I mean, looking at this, Bayern Munich is definitely the heavyweight here when you talk about pure talent. Basel is tough, sure—they bring that grit and fight—but I honestly doubt that kind of heart is going to save them tomorrow when they step into the absolute furnace that is the Allianz Arena. There’s just such a massive gap in skill levels, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Basel players feel a bit of that early-game nerves, you know? Plus, since Bayern needs to win by a handicap to move on without heading into extra time, this looks like a pretty safe bet to me.

wiredcanyon39 said:Bayern has more talent on paper. Basel is mostly just scrappy, but I doubt grit will save them tomorrow in the chaos of the Allianz Arena. There’s a massive quality gap here; I expect Basel to look pretty intimidated early on. Plus, if the Bavarians want to avoid extra time, they need to cover the handicap, which feels like a safe bet.

Might as well mention that last 7-1 blowout against Hoffenheim.

Liverpool FC-Everton FC 3 goals or fewer 1.20
Both sides have been struggling to find the net or keep a clean sheet this season. In 27 matches, Liverpool FC has only seen over 3 goals scored in 4 of them. Same story for Everton FC. It’s a derby, so expect both teams to play it cautious. Their head-to-head history usually stays under 4 goals too—only 3 times in their last 19 meetings.

Doncaster-Reading Reading to score 1.20
Reading is sitting third in their division and is currently riding an 8-game winning streak. Doncaster is hovering near the bottom. They've conceded 55 goals so far, and they've failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 6 outings.

The handicap on Basel at 0:1 in the H2 market is sitting at 32.3... which suggests it could actually land $3.25. It might be worth taking the risk, though one has to consider that Bayern Munich is in excellent form; I can't quite recall the specific indicators from last weekend's match, but the odds are certainly tempting.☕

We could easily see a massive collapse from Bayern Munich today—don't let one solid performance by Bayern fool you, because Basel is anything but a pushover (everyone seems to have conveniently forgotten they knocked out Manchester United recently). If we manage to bag an early goal (which honestly shouldn't be too hard), Bayern will have to find three just to scrape through. Personally, I’d rather take the over 2.5 at 1.45 or even push for the over 3.5 at 2.35 (via DraftKings), instead of messing with some handicap at a ridiculous 1.65 odds. There's zero value there—if you ask me, the real odds on the handicap should be at least 2.00, even if the game ends up being a total blowout like 7:1.

It looks like a pretty good day for making terrible predictions—honestly, I didn't see Basel falling apart quite like that, nor did I expect Bayern Munich to pull off another masterpiece similar to what they did against Hoffenheim.

Regardless, the main picks are already in the bag.🙂

Might as well mention that last game against Hoffenheim. A 7-1 blowout.

Liverpool FC-Everton FC Three goals or fewer. 1,20
Both sides have been struggling to find their rhythm lately, conceding as much as they score. In 27 matches, Liverpool FC and Everton FC have only managed to clear the three-goal mark four times. It’s a derby, so expect both teams to play it safe. Looking at their head-to-head history, they usually stay under four goals—only three out of the last 19 games went over.

Doncaster-Reading Reading FC scores. 1,20
Looking at the third-string squad, they're on an 8-game winning streak right now. Doncaster is sitting near the bottom of the table. They've conceded 55 goals. In their last six matches, they haven't kept a clean sheet once.

2,37

Everything went smoothly, even the folk stuff. An excellent day.
Need to watch tomorrow's game. If Cristiano Ronaldo manages to net two, I might try a 0:3 handicap on Real Madrid.

Looking at the current momentum, I’m taking Sweden. They lost their veteran playmaker and their rising star Guidetti during the last training session. Regardless, Toivonen and Elmander can definitely exploit our defense, and if they can find ways to score against the Dutch, they can certainly get past us.

There's no point in wasting breath on our guys; aside from that one game in Turkey, they haven't shown anything worth mentioning lately. The lineup features a defense with Vidon, Schifo, Šimunić, and Čorluk, which, in my opinion, won't hold up against the Swedes. Charlie is back on the left again, and Vid tends to make sloppy mistakes. Honestly, the only duo that looks decent is Schifo and Šimunić, but even then, it's just okay.🤷
Slaven Bilić keeps flip-flopping—one minute he's saying he won't experiment, the next he's talking about giving certain players a shot.🤷 Basically, I don't believe he'll mess with the defensive line, but we'll likely see some rotation in the attack or midfield.

Given how things are looking, I'm not passing this one up.☕

New York City vs. Miami 3/2/2012 5:30 PM
Pick: 2
Betting: SS
Odds: 2.25
Wager: 10/10

Tomorrow, New York City and Miami face off at the stadium. While Miami dropped points against Istria at home, New York City picked up three points during a very rough road trip against a struggling Lučki side. New York City secured the win, though the performance wasn't exactly top-tier; they just did enough to beat a weak Lučki team. On the bright side, Vidaković, Pavlović, Štrok, Abdurahimi, and Medić should all be ready for tomorrow after missing the Lučki match, and they could all fight for a spot in the starting lineup. The New Yorkers will undoubtedly play with plenty of confidence, especially since they already knocked Miami out of the cup earlier this fall and proved they can go toe-to-toe with them.

On the other hand, Miami is under massive pressure to prove that their youth movement is actually working. Even though their play against Istria was solid, they struggled to finish, and Istria managed to snatch a draw on the counter. Tomorrow should be a different story; New York City is going for all three points, which will leave more space for the Miami attackers. If they can just tighten up their finishing, a victory shouldn't be out of the question.

The wager is high because I have faith in Balakov and this revamped Miami squad. Despite the slip-up against Istria—who had also drawn with Dinamo Chicago—they showed much better form against a very tough opponent. I think Bilić will show up in full force tomorrow.

Current record: 3W/7L (-19 UNITA)
Dinamo Chicago vs. Istra Pula, March 7th at 3:30 PM.
Bet: Over 1.5 goals in the first half. less
Lottery: Home run
Odds: 1.6
Rating: 5/10

Dinamo Chicago is going through a bit of a slump. After that draw against Istra Karlovac, they looked completely flat in the second half—especially after getting caught out on a set piece. It was even tougher when they went up against Osijek. It’s clear Čačić is trying to shift the tactical approach. He's leaning heavily into crossing the ball into the box, which might get results, but it’s killing our scoring numbers and making the game pretty ugly to watch. I'm betting he sticks to this exact same conservative setup today. They aren't going to hunt for goals; a bare-minimum win is all they need to advance.

"We're putting a massive amount of work into our crossing drills during practice. I'm hoping we see improvement in precision day by day, but that's a process that takes time," says Čačić.

On the other hand, Istria will probably just try to protect their away goal advantage. They’ll likely sit back and rely on counterattacks, just like they did in the first leg and during their trip to Miami. In that first match, Istria actually had more chances than Dinamo Chicago to add another one, but expect them to play much more conservatively today since a draw works perfectly fine for them.

Dinamo Chicago hasn't managed to pick up a single win in their first three spring matches. Even that 1-1 draw against the Sesvete side was a mess—they failed to score once in the first half, aside from that lucky goal against Istria Pula deep in stoppage time. Against the Sesvete guys, they only managed to concede one goal during the first half.

Aside from that match against Dinamo Chicago where they conceded early, Istria played to a scoreless halftime against Hajduk Split and a 1-1 draw with Varaždin. Honestly, that Varaždin game was on a completely different level—Istria were heavy favorites playing at home, so they had to open things up a bit. But today? Expect a total defensive bunker in front of Prskal. If Dinamo Chicago tries to rely solely on crossing the ball, they’re going to have a hell of a time breaking through.

He scored once and bagged two assists against the US, then came back from his suspension to net a hat trick against Palermo. He’s in incredible form right now, and since he's usually the one stepping up for penalties, he's primed for tonight. Arsenal is staring down a four-goal deficit, which means there’s going to be plenty of space for him and his teammates to exploit. Getting a guy like this at 2.7 odds is a total no-brainer.☕

Ethan Jones5 said:Philadelphia Union vs. Manchester City. Double chance: 1X at 2.35 on the parlay.

Philadelphia Union are incredibly tough to beat at home this season; they’ve only dropped points against Manchester United and Norwich City. Unlike Manchester City, who absolutely need this win, the Union are heading into this match without any real pressure since they sit 11 points clear of the relegation zone. Plus, City played Sporting CP on Thursday, so fatigue is definitely going to play a factor—especially since their away form rarely matches how dominant they are at home.

Real +2 at 1.50
@2.10

Napoli won 3-1 at home, so there's no way they lose by two goals to a struggling Chelsea FC today. As for Real Madrid, they aren't settling for a 0-0 or a 1-0; they’re going to push hard and score until they can't anymore. 🙂

Chelsea FC could honestly knock Napoli out tonight with a 2-0 scoreline if the stars align, which happens more than you'd think in this game. The new manager actually seems to get what these guys are capable of—he isn't just blindly sticking to rigid tactics or playing names for the sake of it. Look, Napoli is a solid squad, but man, they are going to have a hell of a time on the pitch tonight.

Real Madrid should walk away with the win, but let’s be real: they’ll probably choke and concede a goal, just like they always do.

It’s not impossible, just highly unlikely to happen. Personally, I think betting on both teams to score is the move here.

Real can always mess things up, but we could see a total goal fest today (maybe even a home run).

Not much to say here. Real at home can crush anyone. Don't see why CSKA wouldn't make it to the quarterfinals. They've played nothing but draws in their last three outings.

Chelsea-Napoliover 2 goals 1.65
Chelsea needs to chase a result from the first leg, which means they have to open up completely. Napoli's attack looks stronger than their defense. Chelsea could easily bag a few goals, and Napoli's offense is even more potent. Pressure on Chelsea, then counterattacks against Edinson Cavani, Ezekiel Lavezzi, and Edinson Hamšik.

Purely statistical. Both sides concede and score plenty.
Mlada Boleslav-Viktoria Plzeňboth teams to score 1.70
Mlada has seen both teams score in their last six matches. Viktoria also concedes a lot, despite having the best attack in the league. They played just a week ago and ended in a 1:1 draw. My only hesitation is that they recently lost 0:4 to Sigma.

Athletic Bilbao-Manchester United 2 @2.8 SS

Even though United is laser-focused on the Premier League, that loss at Old Trafford definitely stung. They’re going to be looking to settle the score with the Basques, especially since Llorente's status as their main threat is still up in the air.

The Basques are sitting on a 3-2 lead from the first leg, so they'll probably just sit back and defend. Honestly, even a narrow 1-0 or 2-1 loss would see them through. But you simply can't pass up these odds on United. Sir Alex Ferguson shouldn't need to play it too safe here; they've got a matchup against a weak Wolves side this weekend, so I'm expecting a much stronger midfield than we saw in the first match and a highly motivated United squad.

The Basques are sitting pretty with a 3-2 lead from the first leg, so they'll likely just park the bus. Any narrow loss—1-0 or 2-1—still puts them through. Honestly, you have to take the odds on United here. Sir Alex Ferguson isn't going to overthink this; they've got a matchup against weak Wolves this weekend, so expect a much stronger midfield than last time and a totally motivated United squad.

If you ask me, this one could go either way. Llorente should be starting... Bilbao will have massive home support and they're definitely hungry... the real question is how much does Sir Alex Ferguson actually care about this tournament? 🤷

Sure, he's a die-hard Manchester United fan, but it's tough to imagine Athletic Bilbao playing that well again given the psychological pressure of having such a huge lead. PSV Eindhoven-Valenciaover 2 goals 1.65
Two heavy hitters here, both conceding more than once per game in their domestic leagues. It’ll be an open match; PSV will chase goals, and honestly, I doubt they keep a clean sheet.

Athletic Bilbao-Manchester United 2 or more goals 1.17
United has to play wide open. Athletic has a packed stadium and a home crowd that won't let them sit back and defend for 90 minutes.

Olympiakos-Metalist Kharkiv qualify - Olympiakos 1.25
Better value than the double chance (1.20). After that first loss, I don't see Metalist standing a chance in the madness of Piraeus. Olympiakos is at home, and they haven't conceded in 10 games, so momentum is on their side.

This thread will get cluttered and unreadable pretty fast without daily topics... but whatever.

Lineups and starting elevens for today's UEFA Europa League matches:

PSV-Valencia
Udinese-AZ
Athletic Bilbao-Manchester United
Manchester City-Sporting
Schalke-Twente
Besiktas-Atletico Madrid

I guess Udinese has no chance since they only know how to play on the counter, and now they have to chase a result. Bilbao-United will probably both score; anything could happen. Schalke looks bad, so maybe Twente moves on.

Generally, over 2.5 goals and both teams to score seem like better bets than picking a winner. There were plenty of goals in the Champions League second legs, so I expect the same here.
