Quick tip for Chrome users stuck in redirect loops

Since Google Chrome will cache Your 301 redirects, you'll probably find yourself stuck. If you want to keep your current tabs alive without losing everything, just clear out the cache.

Wrench > Options > Privacy > Click Clear browsing data...

Check whatever boxes you need, but just make sure "Empty the cache" is selected.

Hit "Clear browsing data" and you should be good to test it again.

Honestly, nothing else really matters—just focus on that bolded part.

The sports subforums are running some Gillette ads on the sidebar right now, though you probably have them blocked out anyway. Just deal with it—usually, these ad spots are bought for specific time slots.

It doesn't matter what I try to click on or which link I attempt to open, I just sit here waiting and waiting, and honestly, it feels like my old dial-up connection from ten years ago was actually faster than this. Everything else on the web loads perfectly fine for me—I can jump into any other site and get an instant response—but "Reddit," specifically this forum, is just sluggish and incredibly slow. No matter where I click, I’m stuck staring at a loading screen for 15 or even 20 seconds before anything happens.

Wow, only 15-20 seconds? That doesn't sound too bad to me.
By the time I click a link and whip up half a lunch, the page finally opens. Click, eat, finished.
That’s been my routine for three days now.☕

I'm having some trouble getting this forum to load while I'm here in Indonesia. Every other site I visit seems to work perfectly fine.

I've already tried using Chrome, Mozilla, and even IE.

It’s always the same result.
The page takes forever to load, and when it finally does, it usually just shows this in the browser bar:
, but nothing actually appears—it's just a blank white screen.
Or, if I actually manage to get a post written, it eventually throws a 408 Request Time-out error at me.

Any ideas?

Robert Evans, I click through, head over to the store, then come right back, and the forum still hasn't loaded. This isn't normal behavior. Get this fixed once and for all. Also, your servers have been acting completely haywire today—I'm constantly hitting 503 and 504 errors.

Does anyone from the admin team ever actually show up around here?

As of this evening, the forum speed has finally returned to normal for me.👍

It’s been running fine for me for quite a while now. It was just as slow before. I’d suggest installing an adblocker; things started behaving once I did. Is that really all it took, or am I missing something else? Who knows.

The forum is acting up again. Sometimes it opens a thread without loading all the posts, and then when I try to refresh, it takes forever to actually load 🙂

Hey, can someone tell me why my post count is stuck at zero? It’s just sitting there showing 0... ??

Just go to opcija - ured opcija - forum Language (all the way at the bottom of the page) and select English. 🙂

Thanks. I have no clue why everything shifted. I didn't touch any settings. One minute it's in English when I log in, the next I check my options and it claims it's already set to English. 🤷

The same thing happened to me a couple of times. I didn't touch a single thing. 🤷
