I’m an American woman from a coastal "cultural circle," just like the so-called minister, and I have never—and I mean NEVER—in my forty-eight years of life, heard anyone actually pronounce it "SHPORT" instead of "SPORT."
So, if you ask me, the weird ones are the people who tried to force that awkward pronunciation on me personally back in the nineties.

As for those folks who care more about bloodlines than actual substance... honestly, they aren't worth the breath.☕They shouldn't just be ignored; they should be banned for good.☕

... let's be honest, even before this unfortunate war broke out, you could hear older folks in regions heavily influenced by German culture using the term "sport"... back then, I suppose the original word for "physical exercise" probably carried some rather unwelcome connotations...
