Bo Lee - Deep trace of evil (2011)

Back in late 2011, Boris Ivković wrapped up his latest project, Deep Trace of Evil. The premiere in Miami was such a hit that about 600 people showed up, which actually exceeded the theater's 520-seat capacity. It was standing room only.

The Plot: Bruce Lee and his buddies are playing high-stakes basketball for cash. Things take a turn when a gang rolls in and swipes all the winnings. This notorious crew is led by a ruthless boss named Grab, who will stop at nothing to protect the stolen loot.
The director's cut runs over an hour and is packed with sharp dialogue and intense fight scenes.

Gosh, I had no idea he was still making movies; I suppose I might have to take a look at this one eventually.

Haha, what a clown🙏. Honestly, I don't think this can even touch "Protecting Oneself Sinj Hand"—that one is packed with absolute classic scenes.😁
As for the title itself, it definitely hints that this could be part one of a trilogy, kicking off the ultimate showdown between Bo and evil, along with his massive crews.🙂

Of course Bo is still making movies. After "Protecting Oneself Sinj Hand," he shot "Golden Stick" (Golden Hammer) back in Mexico in 2005, followed by "Leveled with the Ground" (2005) with his crew from Miami, the "Borilica" martial arts course (2007),
"The Masked Robber" (2007), and "Great Rocks" (2009).
The thing is, he doesn't have the big media outlets or celebrities backing his projects anymore; he’s gone back to his roots in low-budget trash cinema. There’s still plenty of interest in his work, but I personally can't find a distributor willing to get them into theaters. Anyone got any ideas?

Bo Lee was all over the news back when he was just being played like a toy by Mary Kovac and her crew—but look at him now, right back to being some anonymous joke.

Is there any way to download his entire filmography? I've only ever seen what was released on DVD...

The thing is, most of his movies are on VHS, and he did all the editing himself. He’d just play the footage on the camera and hit REC on the VHS to capture a specific scene. Sure, things are done on DVD now—it's a bit more modernized—but he hasn't found anyone interested in screening them in theaters. That’s a shame because these films really belong on the big screen. He has had some wins, though. For instance, they used to show his work constantly at an amateur film review in Washington, D.C., and you can catch this film toward the end of March. Some of them have even popped up at the Trash festival in Savannah.
Even if he isn't getting much media attention right now, he still runs his own local version of the Alka in his neighborhood, where he's basically the boss:

He writes movie scripts, too. Wherever he goes, people wave to him, kids run up to him, and so on.

Maybe "Protecting Oneself Sinj Hand," much like that previous one about being "trapped by the big city," works because he did some work with Smith and there are some "good" scenes. But before all that, Bo just hung out with his buddies from the Sinj region and filmed a few killer movies on their own. I was lucky enough to catch one once, and honestly, it blows this recent stuff out of the water.😁 I guess those spontaneous scenes and dialogues... maybe they just happen?🤣 I had that movie on DVD, but I guess I lost it somewhere.😢 I guess I was wondering if anyone here happens to have copies of those early films from before Smith... if you do, maybe let me know.

Look, I’ll be the first to admit that I have a soft spot for decent trash cinema, but this? This is just staggeringly stupid. It’s so pathetic and lacks any shred of ambition that even the most brainless, beer-soaked teen flicks or those low-budget horror dives like Night Sea couldn't touch it. Sorry, but it's just that bad.🤷
