Could someone please help me make sense of these results? My doctor had an emergency come up right when he was supposed to go over them with me!
I’m really looking for some guidance here. I'm planning to start trying for a baby soon, so I just want to know if everything looks okay. Here is what the report says:

Uterus is slightly enlarged
Adnexa are free and non-palpable
History of colpitis
Thanks in advance—honestly, I’m just completely done with this doctor...

I need some help here. I'm planning to get pregnant and want to know if everything looks alright. Here are the findings:

cervix
uterus is small/contracted
adnexa free and non-palpable

The results look clean to me.

vaginal colpitis

Essentially, this means a diagnosis of vaginal inflammation or infection has been made. It doesn't specify what the actual cause or pathogen is.

Hello everyone.
I dealt with a persistent, irritating cough around New Year's Day (it lasted three weeks and cleared up once I finished a course of Amoxicillin). For the past two months, I’ve also been struggling with painful joints—mostly in my hands and knees—which also subsided after the Amoxicillin. Given how much the illness drained me, I had some routine blood work done, including a CBC and a metabolic panel.

Because the morphology showed "Atypical lymphocytes 9%, 3 blasts per 100 WBC" on February 2nd, an emergency bone marrow biopsy was performed. The results from the aspirate, myelogram, and complete blood count all came back normal. My current diagnosis is R72—unspecified abnormal white blood cell count (leukopenia). I am currently waiting on results for Epstein-Barr Virus and CMV. My doctors have suggested several follow-up tests: abdominal, neck, breast, and axillary ultrasounds, plus ANA, AMA, ASMA, ANCA, anti-dsDNA, ENA, antiphospholipid antibodies, ACCP, Walker-Pink, Latex RF, Latex CRP, FT3, FT4, and TSH. I have a few questions:
1. How can a standard lab report show "Atypical lymphocytes 9% and 3 blasts per 100 WBC" on two separate occasions when a bone marrow biopsy and cytology have effectively disproven those findings?
2. Are there any other tests I should consider? Seeing these low white cell counts for a month now is starting to get under my skin, especially since I'm only 36.
3. Is there anything from Alternative medicine that might help boost my white cell count? (I've already been taking a Multivitamin for iron for three weeks). Perhaps colloidal silver, noni, green tea, or tahaboo tea?
Thanks in advance, and apologies for the long post. 😉

My mom is 82 now, and for the last five years, every single time she goes in for blood work, her ESR comes back elevated—usually sitting somewhere between 40 and 50.
The only thing she’s actually dealing with right now is this constant ache in her joints—mostly her knees and bones—which looks like it's just standard osteoarthritis and those typical degenerative changes you see as people age. Other than that, she feels fine; nothing else really bothers her.
So, I finally got my latest blood work back, and well, here are the bits that aren't quite sitting where they should be according to the lab results:
SE 56 (ref. range 5-28)
My LKC came back at 12.4, though the standard range is usually between 3.4 and 9.7. Just one of those things that keeps you staring at the screen for a second too long, I suppose.
NEU 32 (44-72)
So, I just got my latest labs back, and it looks like my LYM is sitting at 61, which is quite a leap from that normal range of 20 to 46... honestly, seeing numbers like that always makes me feel a little bit like a science experiment gone wrong, if you know what I mean. It’s one of those things where you stare at the screen for a minute, wondering if the lab technician accidentally spilled coffee on the results or if my body is just decided to go rogue for the week. Still, I'm trying to stay level-headed about it all, even when the data feels a bit wonky.
Since she isn't complaining about any other kind of pain, her doctor is still sitting on the fence about whether or not to prescribe antibiotics. It makes me wonder—could some kind of inflammation in the joints actually mess with her blood work like this? I’d really appreciate hearing from any doctors out there on what might be going on here. What should the next move be? Should we be looking for an internist to step in and figure this out?

I am on medication for hypertension, taking Methyldopa 500 mg twice a day. (Just a quick note: I've been managing my blood pressure since long before this pregnancy). I had my blood drawn at the hospital transfusion center and also provided a random urine sample for protein testing.

Urinalysis:

Creatinine, urine sample: result 8.58 (Unit mmol/L)
Total protein/Creatinine: result 0.016 (Unit g/mmol, Ref. interval Total protein, urine sample: result 0.140 (Unit g/L)

Thanks so much in advance!
(P.S. During my first pregnancy five years ago, I ended up having a C-section at 38 weeks because of some blood pressure complications.)

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if I could get your thoughts on these updated results, since I just went back to have some new random urine tests done. I'm 35 weeks pregnant now, and it's been about two weeks since my last set of labs.

URINALYSIS: random urine sample

Creatinine, urine sample: result 16.97 (Unit mmol/L)
Total protein/Creatinine: result 0.015 (Unit g/mmol, Ref. interval Total protein, urine sample: result 0.260 (Unit g/L)

Thank you all so much.

Because of the morphology results showing "Atypical lymph. 9%. 3 blasts per 100 WBC" on Feb 2nd, I had an emergency bone marrow biopsy. Thankfully, the puncture findings, the myelogram, and the blood count all came back normal. My current diagnosis is R72—unspecified abnormal white blood cell count (leukopenia). I'm currently waiting on my EBV and CMV results. My doctors have suggested a battery of follow-up tests: abdominal, neck, breast, and axilla ultrasounds, plus ANA, AMA, ASMA, ANCA, anti-dsDNA, ENA, antiphospholipid antibodies, ACCP, Walker-Pink, Latex RF, Latex CRP, FT3, FT4, and TSH. My questions are:
1. How can a standard lab report show "Atypical lymph. 9%. 3 blasts per 100 WBC" (twice, no less!) when the actual biopsy and cytology completely debunked it?
2. Is there anything else I should be asking for? This low white cell count over the last month is starting to really get under my skin, especially since I'm only 36.
3. What kind of Alternative medicine could help boost my white cell count? I've been taking a Multivitamin for iron for three weeks now—would colloidal silver, noni, green tea, or tahaboo tea actually do anything?

You really ought to repeat the CBC as recommended, along with a full metabolic panel including CK, LDH, Iron, TIBC, and ferritin. They're looking for immunological markers too.
As for the other stuff, you should probably post that in the Alternative section.

Latest blood work results—here’s everything that came back outside the normal range:
SE 56 (ref. range 5-28)
My LKC came back at 12.4. The normal range is listed as 3.4 to 9.7. That’s quite a jump.
NEU 32 (44-72)
LYM 61 (Normal range: 20-46)
Since there aren't any other complaints regarding pain, the doctor is currently stuck in limbo—unsure whether to prescribe antibiotics or hold off. My question is this: can inflammatory processes in the joints actually trigger a blood panel like this? I’d really appreciate some insight from the doctors here. What exactly could we be looking at, and what should the next move be? Should we be booking an appointment with an internist immediately?

And why on earth was she running those latest tests? Did she even bother checking her CRP levels? I need you to transcribe the full results—every single detail.

Chris Kelly50 said:To whom it may concern,

Could you please take another look at these results? I've been asked to go back in for more one-time urine tests. I’m currently 35 weeks pregnant, and it’s been two weeks since my last set of labs.

Urinalysis: Single Spot Sample

Creatinine, urine sample: result 16.97 (mmol/L).
Total Protein/Creatinine ratio: 0.015 (Units: g/mmol, Reference interval < 0.024).
Total protein levels from my urine sample came back at 0.260 g/L.

Thanks in advance.

From what I can see, everything looks perfectly normal.

And regarding that other matter, maybe try posting an inquiry on Alternative.

So, what was the reason for those recent tests? Did she get her CRP checked? And honestly, could you just type out the full results?

From what I can tell, everything looks pretty normal.

She had those latest labs done because she's seeing a cardiologist for blood pressure issues.
Aside from elevated cholesterol (6.5) and those specific values mentioned, everything else in her complete blood count is within the normal range. (I don't have the papers right in front of me at the moment, but if it helps, I can type them all out this evening)
She didn't have her CRP checked.

CRP wasn't tested.

You really ought to redo the KCC and CRP tests before that cardiology appointment. As for the rest, I can give you my take once you've transcribed the full results. Just keep in mind that joint inflammation can definitely drive up your ESR.

What was the reason for the typing?

Based on this, for instance, you have HLA-DR4, which is considered a genetic risk factor for rheumatoid arthritis.

We’re going to run more tests for CRP and a CBC, but what do these currently suggest?

If there isn't a major risk for coronary artery disease, I don't see any need to start statins yet. CRP points toward inflammation in the body, while a CBC looks at issues with white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets.
I’d get those two tests done first, then decide on the next move. Honestly, maybe they just had a nasty cold.

So, once we get the results back from the CRP and the CBC, we'll figure out what comes next, but what I'm really wondering is whether this kind of

Thanks for the help

Honestly, we can just completely ignore the blood work results. The idea of just accepting this as some kind of "tolerable norm"? Give me a break. Absolutely not. Since there aren't any other major symptoms popping up—aside from this constant, nagging joint pain and arthritis, which might actually be the root cause of everything else.
Thanks for the help!

It’s just something you have to accept as the new normal.

neongardener6, please explain why these tests were ordered, include the patient's age, and note any existing medical conditions, following the instructions in the first post of this thread.

The results primarily indicate lymphocytopenia—a low lymphocyte count. To determine if this is clinically significant, we need to know the patient's age. For instance, the threshold for a toddler under two years old is different (where counts should ideally stay above 3.0 x 10e9/L) compared to an adult (where anything above 1.0 x 10e9/L is generally acceptable).

To figure out the underlying cause, we need context: why were these labs run in the first place? What specific symptoms or illnesses is the person experiencing, and are they currently taking any medications?

My bad :-)

It's me. I'm 35. No underlying health issues, though I've got this cough... plus, I've been dealing with nausea and vomiting for the last 10 days. Now my stomach is cramping like I'm about to start my period.

I took a pregnancy test because the vomiting made me suspect I might be pregnant. My last period started on January 30th, and ovulation should have happened around February 11th, but I'm not entirely sure. The beta hCG result was 0.098.

Fever is currently 38 degrees.

The KCC was also done due to pregnancy concerns.

Not taking any medications.
