I’ve actually been dealing with some swallowing issues for a while now... just occasional pain that would pop up and then vanish... everything feels totally fine when I'm eating normally...
But over the last few weeks, things have gone south. The pain has gotten pretty intense, whether I'm swallowing spit or just touching the area. I started poking around my neck to see where the trigger was, and right above my Adam's apple, I felt this slight bump. You can kind of see it, but it's subtle... It doesn't move around, and honestly, I don't even know how to describe the texture—it’s not hard at all, just really soft. But man, when I touch it, it hurts. If I press down a bit harder, the pain is absolutely brutal.
I'm pretty sure it's linked to the swallowing pain because they're both hitting that exact same spot.
And look, I know it's probably not lymph nodes since those are way off to the side... this is right in the middle, directly above the Adam's apple.
I'd head straight to the doctor if I could, but I'm stuck out in Phoenix right now and can't get to my physician back in Chicago... and I really don't want to make the trip just to find out it's nothing.
Is there any actual reason to be freaking out here? Thanks.
