Thanks... π I added it to my Stylebot π
Anyone who wants the update/install
#64 ·
Everything seems to be falling apart on my end lately. For instance, the message thread in my PM-ovs completely vanished because of some mess involving the div.panel tbody td element. Good grief, I honestly don't know what they were thinking when they pushed this update...
#65 ·
Ugh, great... just what we needed.
First they give you these massive avatars to make you think everything's going smoothly, and then they hit users like π€£

Hmm... which bar? Is it tagged with a specific class or an ID in the source code that we could target and style individually?
EDIT: Figured out the issue. Swapped out div.panel tbody td for div.panel div[style="width:640px"] tbody td and now everything looks fine. π

Aha, I think weβre getting somewhere, at least partially.
#collapseobj_quickreply td { background-color: transparent; }
div.panel fieldset > table > tbody > tr > td { background-color: transparent; }
The first snippet should handle the quick reply area down below, while the second one targets that top table within the PMO interface. That indicator for the PMO should remain untouched.
But now, we're still stuck with this massive amount of white space in the advanced reply section and a few other spots...
It honestly baffles meβit's as if someone didn't even bother using the current CSS, opting instead to tinker with some ancient backup or a basic default template.
That 640px rule isn't right; there's absolutely nothing like that in the W3C code. Why on earth is it working on your end? π And setting all those tables to 100% width doesn't feel like a great solution either. Ugh.

Jesse Sanchez4 said:Yeah, I think weβre getting there, sort of.
#collapseobj_quickreply td { background-color: transparent; }
div.panel fieldset > table > tbody > tr > td { background-color: transparent; }
The first part handles the quick reply box down below, and the second one fixes that top table on the PMO interface. The PMO indicator itself stays untouched.
But now, thereβs just this massive amount of white space left in the advanced reply and a few other spots...
It makes no senseβitβs like someone didn't even bother using the existing CSS, but instead grabbed some ancient backup or a default file and started messing around with it.
That 640px thing isn't right; I don't see it anywhere in the W3C code. Why is it working on your end? π And setting all those tables to 100% doesn't feel like a great solution either. Sigh.
That 640px rule is an attribute set on the Advanced Reply section specifically to fix the white space there... It was the only attribute I could isolate without breaking the rest of the .panel elements.
Do you happen to know where I can find the default stylesheet for vBulletin 3.8? π
#69 ·
Well, look at that... the advanced reply feature finally sorted it out.
Here is what I have running now:
#collapseobj_quickreply td,
div.panel fieldset > table > tbody > tr > td,
#vB_Editor_001 td,
.panel div[style="width:640px"] td {
background-color: transparent !important;
}
(I had to use !important because Opera is being its usual stubborn self)
There are still a few minor annoyances leftβlike how the quick reply toolbar refuses to align leftβbut Iβm done tinkering for now; I've got the game on.

Iβm honestly lost here π¬. Iβve been using FFβI actually downloaded checkymonkey or whatever it wasβbut then I hit a wall. Can someone please just give me some straightforward instructions?

Just look for the "new user script" option, enter a name and a domain (it doesn't really matter what you put there), and hit OK. From there, you just copy and paste the script, and you're all set. If the system asks you which text editor you want to use, you'll just need to point it toward Notepad.exe.

Does anyone have a clue why the buttons on the toolbars shift around when you hover over them? Since I'm already tinkering with things, I might as well fix this annoyance once and for all π
It's because they have some default padding that vanishes upon hover, much like how a poorly planned budget disappears the moment you actually try to use it π€¦
Here is what I put together. That's enough for tonight; I'm heading to bed π
html body {
background-color: #fff;
background-image: none;
}
div.page {
width: 100% !important ;
}
.pagenav table {
width: 0 !important;
}
.alt1 td, .alt1Active td {
background-color: transparent !important;
}
.alt2 td, td.alt2 {
background-color: #E1E4F2 !important;
}
#collapseobj_quickreply td,
div.panel fieldset > table > tbody > tr > td,
#vB_Editor_001 td,
.panel div[style="width:640px"] td {
background-color: transparent !important;
}
table[style="width:640px"],
table#vB_Editor_QE_1_editor,
table#vB_Editor_QE_1_editor td.vBulletin_editor,
table#vB_Editor_QE_2_editor,
table#vB_Editor_QE_2_editor td.vBulletin_editor {
width: 100% !important;

Honestly, Iβm just not feeling this at all; it looks like some kid went wild with a bunch of random settings and totally trashed the forum's layout. Can we please just go back to how it used to be? π
#75 ·
I am genuinely at a loss here... what on earth is going on?

π On my 1080p setup, thereβs enough room for those damn ads to take up the whole screen and still leave some dead white space on the sides. This forum is so cramped I practically have to glue my face to the monitor just to make sense of anything through all these obnoxious blue ads stabbing me in the eyes. :/

I usually just hold down Ctrl and scroll up until everything looks perfectly aligned and centered...
#79 ·
Alright, enough with the jokes, I'm being dead serious nowβthis is just straight-up garbage, like, it couldn't possibly get any worse than this. The layout is way too cramped, and honestly, that blue color is absolutely blinding; itβs actually physically painful to look at. It makes me not even want to browse the forums or read the threads I actually care about, let alone deal with the whole hassle of actually posting anything.
#80 ·
Oh wow π... now even my icons look huge π... just used ctrl+scroll π€£... how did I not think of this sooner? π¬
I honestly feel like they've really messed up the forum lately, but I actually love this feature
BUT π’... when I scroll down, the emojis look totally broken π... but when I have them at half size, the emojis look perfectly fine π
I think I'll just stick with keeping everything at half scale π’
