This is exactly why part of the fanbase—the older crowd—complains about modern F1. They feel the drivers lack character. If someone actually speaks their mind today, they’re immediately labeled a crybaby. It seems younger fans today prefer "nice guys" and introverted alcoholics.
I wouldn't even want to get into a debate about why that is.
