Drew Bennett68 said:Sure, I can see Alonso pulling into 2nd right after the first turn, but what happens when he deals with that pack trailing him? Between Mark Webber, Felipe Massa, and Hamdiya, someone’s definitely going to be leaving a front wing out on the asphalt.

Personally, I'd be perfectly fine if all three of them just stayed in the hunt. 😂

Then again, knowing Massa, he's usually the one leaving spare parts scattered across the track. It might actually make his life easier to finish the race without having to find his car in one piece.

And honestly, I'm worried the Red Bull Racing drivers might gang up on Alonso at the start. I’m more concerned about Sebastian Vettel, though. He’ll probably dive toward whatever gap opens up if he sees Alonso in his rearview mirror—and let's face it, looking through a Red Bull Racing mirror is a different game than looking through a McLaren one.

It is entirely expected that he will succeed. Given his ability to execute a start—a skill he possesses quite uniquely—that pole position is practically guaranteed for him. My only lingering doubt concerns Sebastian Vettel; I find myself questioning exactly how motivated he remains to chase a victory now that he has already secured the championship title.🤣div>

Honestly, it’s so hard to call. I was thinking about Singapore—even after those mediocre qualifying sessions, I thought things would improve during the race. Between the soft and medium tires and that high pace, it looked like a win-win situation. Then, unfortunately, he ended up a minute behind in the race.
South Korea should be similar. With the medium tires, there should be some action, especially since they wear out after just two or three laps. And don't even get me started on how Ferrari performs on the harder compounds.

Raymond Anderson4 said:South Korea will be the same story—those red tires won't last long, they'll be shot after just two or three laps. And don't even get me started on how Ferrari handles the hard compounds.

I was trying not to bring this up, but those idiots in the pit box absolutely screwed over Fernando Alonso in South Korea.
First off, by the time they actually decided to pit him, they'd been sitting there for an eternity. It wasn't just that Jenson Button blew past him by five or six seconds; even Michael Schumacher cleared him. Total amateurs. If they had just brought Alonso in a few laps earlier, where would he be right now?

Second, what on earth was Massa doing racing ahead of Alonso on track? Look, that’s fine once in a blue moon, but it should be extremely rare. Even someone who isn't paying attention could see that Felipe is clearly a class below him. And how much did that stupidity cost us? At the very least, we could have had a much more exciting finish, and Alonso might have even snatched a podium.
When are these people going to learn?

First off, while they were sitting there waiting an eternity for a strategy change, Jenson Button didn't just blow past them by five or six seconds—even Michael Schumacher cleared them. Total morons. If Alonso had gone in for tires a couple of laps earlier, where would he be right now?

Second, what on earth was Massa doing racing ahead of Alonso? Look, it’s fine occasionally, but only as a rare exception. A blind horse could see that Felipe is a class below him. And how much did that stupidity cost? At the very least, we could have had a much more exciting finish, and Alonso might have actually snagged a podium.
When will they finally learn?

It’s clearly not a priority for the championship anymore. They don't want to burn out Felipe further just so the poor kid doesn't lose all hope entirely. In one sense, it's understandable; in another... well...

I think driving behind Massa cost Alonso way more than people realize... he just didn't have the pace during that stint, which is exactly what he admitted after the race. He was losing half a second in the final sector—sometimes even more—simply because his tires weren't giving him enough grip, which is vital for a fast final sector.

I'm hoping for a better showing tomorrow.🙂

The FIA is being ridiculous. 🤣

Daniel Ricciardo qualified 21st, but gets a 5-place penalty, so he's starting 22nd.🤣 🤣 🤣

Man, I have got to say, there is nothing quite as soul-crushing as having to drag yourself out of bed at 3:00 AM just to sit there and manually wind your clock back.😉

They should've had him starting 26th.🙂

How is Timo Glock starting 22nd then? Did they miss something or did things change again? 😂

Will it be Alonso or Button taking this one?

I am genuinely looking forward to an absolutely incredible race.

This track simulation is pretty solid.

About twenty overtakes per lap, then Mark Webber just screws it all up at the end. 😁
