I really feel compelled to give a shout-out to Robert Hall7, who seems to be putting in significantly more effort than the rest of the moderation team combined. I’ve been following a thread over on a major news forum where Robert Hall7 is actively participating, and what strikes me is the lack of heavy-handedness; he isn't just handing out bans to anyone who dares to disagree with him. Instead, he prefers to handle disputes through direct messages, taking the time to actually explain his reasoning rather than just pulling rank. Honestly, you have to respect that kind of dedication and genuine sense of fairness.

Honestly, looking at how Robert Hall7 has been posting lately... being put in charge of the politics section feels more like a sentence than an upgrade. She’s going to have to completely tone down her usual style just to prove she can be a "neutral" moderator, and frankly, we regular users are the ones losing out here...

Having to moderate political discussions is just stifling her personality on this board.

Besides, I get the feeling there's an unwritten rule here against starting threads about other members... though I suppose that rule doesn't apply when moderators are busy patting themselves on the back.

At the end of the day, it’s all just online chatter. But if we're being honest, briskmason, you actually ended up agreeing with my point. The moderation on these boards is practically non-existent, and the Politics section is particularly farcical, yet Robert Hall7 manages to rise above that erratic baseline through sheer persistence and a genuinely serious approach to the work.
