Installing Windows

Thanks for all the help, everyone. But I’m still a little stuck—how do I actually take 10 GB away from one partition and give it to the smaller one? And once everything is installed, am I going to need to hunt down drivers manually? Like, for my graphics card and stuff? Also, is there any chance I could totally mess this up? If I do, how would I fix it? I know, I have way too many questions. 😁
I've never really done anything like this before, so I'm feeling a bit nervous.

You’re going to have to deal with installing all those drivers, software, whatever else comes with it later on...

I've got this old rig, had Windows XP on it maybe three years ago, and man, it used to fly.
But now? It’s slowed down so much it’s actually painful... seriously, it's tragic.
If there's any good soul out near Chicago who can help me reinstall it, I'm buying the beers and pizza! :-)

I haven't actually done this before, so I'm feeling a bit uneasy about it.

If you aren't storing any critical data on that second partition, the cleanest approach is to simply wipe all existing partitions during the Windows installation and build them from scratch. For the system drive, I’d suggest allocating at least 50 GB to ensure things run smoothly.

You'll need to reinstall every single driver from the ground up.

Download EaseUS Partition Master and you can just shave at least 10 GB—or honestly, way more if you want—off your D drive and merge it directly into your C drive manually .
