Michael Diaz4 said:Once you get checked out, you'll have all the answers—but if there’s a lump and it was itching before, plus some pain during bowel movements, it could totally be hemorrhoids...

Ugh, it keeps messing with my head—I don't even feel the lump anymore... the last two times I was in the restroom, nothing hurt at all. Now, it doesn't even itch, I just occasionally feel like something is there, just... in the way? I don't know how to describe it! And those symptoms you mentioned—are we talking about external hemorrhoids specifically? Also, will my doctor send me to a specialist for a digital exam 😢 or will she just take a quick look without actually doing anything? :S I'm honestly terrified and have no idea what to expect :/

Anyway, thanks so much for the help <3 and for all the replies!

I was actually so desperate I even took a photo... just thinking maybe I could show someone so they could tell me if it's actually a hemorrhoid or not... :S :S :S :S

Based on those symptoms, it’s gotta be hemorrhoids. It looks like an early stage, too. But honestly, why even guess at this point? You should just go see a doctor. The exam takes maybe two minutes—just a quick digital rectal exam. It won't hurt, I promise, so don't be scared. The main thing is just to relax; the doctor will put some cream on their gloved finger (😁) and apply it, and you'll be fine. Usually, they use something like > ointment. Also, there's a photo posted in this thread. Just click the paperclip icon at the top of the topic to see if what you're experiencing looks similar...

I’m a little hesitant to bring this up here too 🙈, but I feel like I’m reading this thread completely backwards and it’s starting to make me panic...
Basically, I dealt with diarrhea for three days straight—and when I say that, I mean at least 30 trips to the bathroom a day 🙂—and now one of those external hemorrhoids 🤔 has popped up. Is it possible this is just my new reality? Like, am I going to be dealing with these constantly from now on? 🤷
By the way, I’m currently using . What do you guys think of this cream, and how long does it usually take to get back to feeling normal?

Thanks, Leslie! 🙂 Just one more quick thing—is a digital exam actually necessary if we're just talking about external hemorrhoids? Thanks so much for everything!! div>

mellowbear10 said:I figured I’d share this here in case anyone wants to give it a shot... you basically need about a third of a pound of pork fat—but not the smoked kind or any greasy scraps, just straight-up fresh fatback. You just take the fat and dice it into small cubes. Throw them on the heat and let them slowly render down. Once it starts melting, toss in about a third of a pound of shredded carrots and stir it occasionally until all that fat has liquefied. You aren't looking to fry the carrots until they're dark or crispy; you just want them lightly sautéed in the fat. Then, just strain it out and you're done. There isn't really a strict rule on how often to apply it—maybe just once in the morning and once at night?
It definitely won't hurt to try....

Good luck!

Has anyone actually tried this? Like, does it actually work?

And does it actually help with the pain, bleeding, or inflammation? Does it actually get hemorrhoids to clear up?

...I just left my primary care doctor's office. Honestly? It wasn't even about getting a finger exam—she didn't even bother looking at me! She just scribbled a prescription for some Fact ointment and told me I should just watch my stool every day to see if there's blood or not... I'm totally lost, and honestly, I just feel like crying. I don't want to spend my life constantly checking the toilet every single day—I mean, I'm only 18! :/ 😢 Does that Fact ointment actually do anything? Is it just for internal hemorrhoids, or does it work for external ones too?

New here, just turned 18, so hey everyone 😁 Basically, I dealt with a small hemorrhoid recently and, like always, before even mentioning a health issue to my parents, I decided to self-diagnose using my best friend—the INTERNET. After googling everything, I convinced myself I had a perianal abscess. I thought I was headed for surgery and reading all that crap online sent me straight into a depression... ADVICE: stop reading too much stuff on the web because half of it is total garbage. Just go to a doctor and let them give you an actual diagnosis... So, after a week of suffering and pain, I finally told my folks and we went to see this great private specialist (he’s also treating me for Crohn disease 😢). He checked me out and said it was just a hemorrhoid. My parents were relieved as hell, but I was still shaken up because of all that junk I read... He prescribed some Fact cream and Fact suppositories (I HATE THOSE DAMN SUPPOSITORIES!!! -.-) and I only used two before deciding there was no way I was doing more... I just used the Fact cream and sat in cold water for 5 minutes whenever I bathed (cold water helps the swelling go down), and after about 4 or 5 days, the hemorrhoid just receded. I'm happy and satisfied... 😁 That Fact cream actually works! (Y)
Hemorrhoids happen because people aren't active enough, sit for too long, eat poorly which makes stools hard, strain when they need to go, or sit on the toilet way too long due to pressure imbalances and stuff... Moving more, eating healthy/varied meals (I eat everything, but obviously have at least one piece of fruit every day), and fiber are good for it... Hopefully that helps... Honestly, the cream really worked for me and everyone gets prescribed it, so just try it, you've got nothing to lose 🙂 Mind you, mine was external, but there are internal ones too (for those, the suppositories are good since they work from the inside—if you can stand them, that is) Enjoy and good luck! 🙂

He prescribed some Fact ointment and Fact suppositories (I HATE SUPPOSITORIES!!! -.- ) I used two and decided there was absolutely no way I was doing those again... Enjoy and good luck! 🙂

Oh my gosh, thank youuuu! You're actually the first person today who's cheered me up 🙂 I'm so glad you replied—you've helped me so much. I also read a bunch of nonsense online and almost had a nervous breakdown, only for the doctor to tell me to just use the cream and call it a day. She didn't even really examine me, so I guess it's truly nothing serious... I hope your checkup wasn't too painful or awkward either... I'm honestly just so happy for you. I'm really hoping my hemorrhoids clear up soon, so I'll keep using the cream with high hopes... She didn't prescribe the suppositories, so I don't know... for now, I'll just stick to the cream and hopefully I won't go wrong with that... Big thanks and huge hugs for the help! 😍

Do you need a prescription for Fact ointment and those earwax removal drops, or can I just grab them off the shelf at a CVS?

I know I have some topical stuff on hand—even some external creams—and there isn't any pain or bleeding right now. Well, once before there was this massive bleeding incident that stung so bad I couldn't even finish using the restroom properly, let alone wipe 😂, but since then, nothing has happened. So, I guess I'm just wondering if those things for treating inflammation can be bought over the counter, or if everything has to go through a doctor via a prescription.

I agree with you, though I should add a small disclaimer: in your case, we're talking about perianal issues stemming from Crohn disease, which is a bit different from most of the other cases discussed on this thread.

To be honest, I really hope those seniors didn't actually pass away. 😁
I'm thinking they maybe just took a much-needed breather.

How long is it safe to rely on flaxseed for better or easier digestion?

And what's the best way to use flaxseed oil?
What should I mix it with?

As for the actual seeds—how do you use those?
Do they need to be ground up (?) and then what?

Is there anything else out there (natural) besides flax that helps soften things up or keeps things regular?

Ugh, I’ve been dealing with this hemorrhoid mess for way too long... basically, about a year and a half ago, I went to see a specialist for a checkup and they told me I had first-degree hemorrhoids. But now... things have taken a turn. For the last few days, my stool has been incredibly hard, and I’m seeing this bright red, fresh blood on the toilet paper after I go. To be clear, there isn't any blood *in* the stool itself, it's just there when I wipe. It honestly feels like I'm passing a razor blade down there every single time I have to go. It calmed down for a couple of days, but today it's back to being rock hard and—you guessed it—blood on the paper again... I am seriously freaking out here. When I feel around, I can sense some thickening around the anus, more on the inside, but it just feels swollen and inflamed... is that definitely just hemorrhoids or could it be something else? How do you even tell the difference? I know deep down I need to fix my diet so things are softer, but I’ve developed this massive phobia of even going to the bathroom... which I guess is just making the whole cycle even worse.

Soften things up. Eat fruit compotes, jams, preserves—plum compote is great for keeping things moving. And obviously, you know hygiene has to be perfect. You MUST wash up after you go; honestly, hopping in the shower is the best way. And yeah, those sound like hemorrhoids. Why don't you try an over-the-counter cream? Try FACT, it's perfectly fine for the early stages...

And yeah, if it's hemorrhoids... why haven't you tried a cream? Give Preparation H a shot; it’s actually pretty decent for when you're just starting out...

Thanks for the advice, I am! Seriously, I've been slathering on the Preparation H, but man, this morning was a nightmare because my stool was XXLarge again... I mean, it was basically impossible not to tear the wound wide open because everything is just so massive and hard as a rock😲... I made myself some compote with plums, figs, and apples... but I don't know, this is seriously exhausting. It feels like I'm going through actual labor every single time I have to use the bathroom.😠

Has anyone actually tried this—like, does it actually work?

And how long are we talking for the treatment?

Does it actually clear everything up completely, or is it just going to take down the current swelling?
If things flare up again later, do I just start over from scratch?

"A natural remedy for hemorrhoids"

Honestly, it feels like things couldn't possibly get any worse than they are right now.
So, does anyone have any real-world experience with this stuff???
