What? This sounds like total trash.

But I just looked him up on Wikipedia. The guy actually writes symphonies, plays a ton of instruments, loves Czech melodies and Eastern vibes and all that.

I guarantee you’d be bored to tears at the Nirvana show without Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic!

It honestly felt like 90% of the people just wandered into the wrong venue by mistake.

I didn't expect such a massive turnout at all. The vibe was pretty rough, but the actual set was killer.

The sound was solid, though I wouldn't have minded if they turned it up just a hair... especially since half the crowd around me felt like a bunch of retirees just standing there in silence, which gets annoying when you're trying to move around, and we were right in 🙏 the first two rows.

The setlist was killer—though maybe they shouldn't have tackled "Absolute Dissent" since the Jazz stuff was a struggle and he really couldn't nail that chorus.
Everything else they played from the jump absolutely crushed 🙏

The tempo wasn't too frantic either, unlike some people who seem to be moving in slow motion 🤣

I should probably mention that I couldn't understand why nobody was moshing, throwing hands up, or even singing along.

It’s actually the exact opposite of that dive bar I read about—the one that was located right over in the cowboy district of town at the same time. 😠

Look, obviously I’m not trying to turn a Killing Joke concert into some mindless cattle call at a county fair. That's just not how this works. Get your head in the game!

I tried hanging a T-shirt up on a cross and a hammer, but I quickly realized it wasn't worth the effort and gave up.

Luckily, my taxi driver actually put me in a good mood on the way home. We spent the ride listening to some Jazz, just geeking out over the subtle nuances of the drumming and all that.

I honestly don't know what you all were doing—two girls were jumping all over me, while the guys stayed pretty much stationary, which I actually appreciated since nobody tried to spill beer on me. 😁 I was dancing as much as my energy allowed, considering I was stuck taking an exam earlier 236 miles this morning.

I am still absolutely buzzing; I can hardly believe I actually saw them live. They played almost every single song I love, and honestly, I wouldn't change a thing about the night. I've been grinning since last night, and every few minutes I catch myself thinking about that manic look in 😍

Got the commemorative concert T-shirt, as usual 😍

Any New Yorker who thinks this concert wasn't up to their standards should probably just pack up and move to some other city for a few months. It would be good for them to actually experience what a truly terrible show looks like, or what a pathetic crowd feels like, instead of throwing those terms around so loosely. 👍

Besides, I ran into some guy who was standing off to the side, and he mentioned that since they were closer to the entrance, there was more air circulation, which kept the crowd more energized and ready to move.😳

I didn't get the impression that there was a massive crowd of well-dressed people there; honestly, the only thing I even noticed was one guy wearing a House of Lies T-shirt, which was the only highlight for me.😁

No need to apologize. Everything is totally fine. It’s just that for me, it didn't quite hit that breaking point. It's not at all that the band or the show was bad. However...

Oh yeah, even though I prefer the Plank phase when I'm listening at home in the dark, at a live show, those albums from the two-thousands and their anthem actually suit the vibe better.

The only thing I really caught was some guy wearing a House of Lies T-shirt; that would have been cool.

For me, seeing someone in a Death in June shirt was the highlight. Watching the parade of concert outfits is always entertaining.

And why does it bother you when people show up to a gig just to listen to the band? Concerts aren't just for the crowd that sleeps until noon and yawns all night; some of us actually have jobs. Since when did it become your business to monitor whether someone else is jumping around or singing along? If you feel the need to go wild and build an atmosphere, then go ahead and do it. Personally, I’m more annoyed by the people constantly pacing between the bar, the floor, and the restroom, or those who spend the entire set filming everything on their phones.🤷
