Is Tylenol being discontinued in the US?

So, I was at the pharmacy today and heard a little rumor from one of the folks there that they might be pulling this stuff from the shelves here in the US. It actually caught me off guard, honestly, since it’s easily one of the better painkillers out there...

Does anyone happen to know what's going on? Like, does anyone have more info, or maybe know if you can still find it somewhere?

Tylenol is just paracetamol at its core, so you can easily swap it out for any other generic version containing the same active ingredient—whether that’s plain paracetamol, Panadol, or Advil.

But I don't think you quite grasp the issue... Advil doesn't dissolve in water. (Well, the Advil Plus C variety does, I suppose). And as for Panadol, I haven't seen a box of that since I was maybe thirteen years old.😁

By the way, word is they aren't going to be making it anymore... though I haven't the slightest clue why.

I honestly doubt any pharmacist actually knows the real reason they’re pulling it...

I pretty much look at this forum as the go-to source for the truth, so hopefully, I'll get some answers here eventually..

Usually, any notices about drug recalls or changes get posted directly on the FDA website. From what I can see, there’s nothing listed regarding Tylenol.

Tylenol chewables for kids have been totally pulled... like, they haven't been in any pharmacies for probably over six months now🤷
