I am reaching out because I find myself in a bit of a bind, and I’m honestly not even sure if there is a dedicated thread for this kind of thing—my apologies if I’ve already missed it, as I struggled to figure out the right search terms to use.

To give you some context, I have a job application that I need to fill out, print, and then send via the mail. The issue is that the document is in a PDF format, and I’m at a complete loss as to how to actually type my information directly into it. I did manage to stumble upon a conversion tool online to turn it into a Microsoft Word document, but the results were quite disappointing; it simply extracted the raw text, stripping away all the essential formatting, such as the checkboxes, tables, and small icons that make the form functional. I need to preserve those elements to ensure the application looks professional. Does anyone know a reliable way to handle this? I am under a bit of a time crunch here, so any guidance would be sincerely appreciated.

Many thanks.

Give Adobe Acrobat a shot
I use it myself. You can wipe out specific parts of a page, and I think you can add text too. You could also hunt for a program to convert a PDF into Microsoft Word, but just a heads up—it’s rarely a perfect 1:1 match. If you want to try converting to Microsoft Word, maybe check out Adobe Acrobat Pro

The situation is this: I have a job application that I need to fill out, print, and mail via USPS. The problem is the document is a PDF, and I have no idea how to actually input my information into it. I tried a workaround I found online by converting it to a Microsoft Word document using a converter, but it was a disaster—it just gave me a wall of plain text. All the formatting, the little checkboxes, the tables, and the images are completely gone. How can I fix this? It’s fairly urgent, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks so much.

Able2Extract.Professional.v6.0.0.0 is easily the gold standard here. Just convert it to Microsoft Word, fill in your details, and then save it back as a PDF...

Look, the simplest move here—and honestly, why overcomplicate things?—is just to print the damn thing out first and fill it in by hand with a pen. No need to wrestle with a PDF editor when you can just go old school. 🙂
