As the title implies, can someone please explain the process for creating video animations—or whatever most people call gifs these days? 😁

Something similar to this:

It was likely pulled straight from YouTube, so I am curious about how one actually 😬
Furthermore, how does one produce a gif at a higher resolution—meaning, something substantial, rather than tiny like the examples provided? Thanks 🙂

Using Synthesia.
You can crank out an animation in whatever resolution or length you want, but there's a catch—the file size is going to blow right past 10 MB, and then you're stuck because, as far as I know, Imgur is the only place that actually accepts images and animations up to that 10 MB limit.

Here are some examples of high-res GIFs:

I put them in links because the file sizes are massive.
That second link is just an animation of the second image...
Not that I actually care.

In all honesty, I don't even need a GIF this large—I was just asking. I'm curious about the actual process behind making them, if anyone here actually knows how? Like those three little GIFs I included in my first post?

Look, it’s pretty much foolproof when you're messing around with Synthesia.
Just toss your video into the "input file" slot and make sure you set the file type to "all files." Once you're in the preview window, just stretch it out to whatever size you're feeling. Use the scale at the bottom to dial in your start and end times. As for the frame rate—if you crank it up to 10, the motion looks smooth, but man, that GIF size is going to balloon. If you drop it down to 1, like that screenshot you just posted on Imgur, the file size stays tiny, which lets you make the GIF way longer without killing your storage.

Grab Handbrake—you can use it to convert videos into .GIFs easily.
