"Word cannot start the converter mswrd632." This error pops up whenever I try to open a Microsoft Word document. Has anyone dealt with this? I've been scouring Google, but nothing is working.
This document is my senior thesis, so the stakes are incredibly high here. If anyone can help, please speak up.
It simply refuses to open. Every time I attempt to force it, the screen just fills with random little squares instead of text.
🙂

So, you're telling me none of these
methods actually work?

I tried running the registry edit via the RUN command and nothing happened. Do you have any actual advice or know how to tune this properly?
I haven't tried using a different PC yet, but I doubt that's going to change anything either.

🤔 Well, it’s entirely possible that the document is saved in some obscure encoding format that your computer simply doesn't recognize or support...

HELP!! Urgent!
How can I stop this from happening in Microsoft Word:
image

When I copied the text below into a table, part of the sentence disappeared behind the cell border. Does anyone know how to fix this? I need to have this printed within the hour. 😢

Maybe the fix is this:

Format -> Paragraph -> Set right indent to 0.

Basically, when I copied these sentences into a table, part of the text disappeared—it's hidden behind the cell border. If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know ASAP. I need to have this printed in an hour.😢

Place your cursor to the left of the table, click, select the entire table (both columns), right-click, then select Merge Cells.

That should do it.🙄

There are actually quite a few ways to go about this, depending on what you're ultimately trying to achieve.
For instance, you can just select the column and right-click to select "AutoFit to contents."

It took me six months to realize... 🙄
Now I'm facing a whole different issue...

I should probably just show you:
image

So, I can't type anything at all in the area outlined in orange above. When I try to type in the second orange section below, the exact same text automatically copies itself into the top section where I can't edit it. 😕
How do I turn this off? Is Microsoft Word 2007 really going to drive me crazy? 😠

Oh, and it won't even let me save the document.

So what now?
The rest of us should probably be thanking you for finally explaining how you figured it out and fixed it yourself. ???

Think you'll be back asking for help again soon?

Ugh, I just "love" people who ask for help but then won't lift a finger to share the solution with everyone else. 👎

Has anyone actually asked about the solution? It seems like nobody has even shown an interest in this topic.
I decided to write this post just in case someone still wants to reply, so they know I don't need help anymore. Why should anyone waste their time if the issue is already resolved??

Maybe someone else will run into this exact same issue down the road and find your fix right here in this thread.
(don't be so selfish). That's literally what forums are for—helping each other out and swapping ideas.
