So, tonight we’ve got Danger, Gorillaz, Lowbrows, and Raquel Meyers hitting up Spider on the Mississippi alongside the demode kolektiv.

Around 6:00 PM, Gorillaz is doing a little presentation over at the Teatar &TD cafe covering music production on archaic computers and the general vibe of low-res art.

Since there's a pretty high chance we're looking at rain this Saturday, we decided to move the Ted Leo and Marshmallows show into the main hall at Teatar &TD. Sets start around 10:00 PM, and yeah, there'll be a TV running in the cafe.

Also, just a heads up that Red Bull Manny Mania has been moved over to Paramount Pictures in Brooklyn.

Yesterday’s panel was actually really great—nice work on that. I guess you could have maybe found a different moderator for the NHF, though 🙂

Is there anything out there I can read regarding the panel discussion? I'm curious how everything went down—was it actually worth the hype? I couldn't make it, so I'm feeling a bit out of the loop, I guess.

WHATEVER!

It was basically Zdenko Franjić, Banjanin, Kornel, Meniga, Six, some crazy Sergej, and I think there was some other guy releasing electronic stuff—I can't remember his name now, which is embarrassing. Mate ali showed up later, though he was a bit late since his back was acting up and he walks pretty slow—but honestly, he didn't really have much to say since the guy doesn't even have a label! LOL!

Zdenko Franjić was definitely the most romantic one; he said love is what drives everything, threw out a few funny jokes, and mentioned he puts out about 80 releases a year. Total legend. Then he just headed out. I guess his back was hurting too, so he’s taking his sweet time getting home after dressing for the occasion.

Anyway, I don't know, everyone said all sorts of things, but the bottom line was more or less that the whole situation is a mess—that people aren't buying local releases, the government is screwing us over, and it's hard to expand across the country because of the broken system. Still, they said you have to push beyond borders because the domestic market is just too small. Bands should play around more, too, but even that's tough since clubs are struggling because nobody has any money. Six said all this depressing stuff and mentioned they might invite Mirkić next time since he’s actually cheerful and funny—Six kind of convinced all of us, I think, or maybe not everyone, but I've been feeling pretty down all day. Not kidding.

Besides, everyone there was already pretty old and washed-up punk, and they need younger people to step up, so get involved. Not you, Betty Booth5—you're already old and washed-up and not even a punk, so there's nothing for you to find there.

Everyone is hoping for the same thing: that this panel might inspire someone to help out, spark an idea, or just that things will eventually improve so people actually have money to buy music, and maybe the government will act somewhat normal like they do in other countries.

So, if you read this, please go buy an album by Munli—because Six and Miran are good people and we wouldn't want those loan sharks breaking their legs!!!

So, there we have it. Anyone else feeling the vibe?

I picked up a Moonlee album last year—and I’m thinking about grabbing another one from the same artist this year, if I'm being honest.

Thanks for that, "Chechi"—otherwise known as Captain Obvious... or gentlepuma20.

I'm bummed I couldn't make it at the end... I guess I'm just getting old and washed up.

😢Zdenko Franjić is an absolute legend, but the indie crowd totally ignores him when he's got a booth at shows.

Do Kornel and Meniga still put out anything, or do they just talk about the good old days?
Look, if you read this post, do me a favor and buy a Munli album. Six and Miran are solid guys, and we don't want any thugs breaking their legs!

bullshit 😢

Listen, the new Avdić is essential reading, whether you dig the music or not. Buy it, people. Support them. Grab the new releases at http://www.geengerrecords.com/

Apparently, Sex is releasing "Pushing off the Cliff." 🙏

Is Moonlee playing in Vienna? We need to head over there again this year.

I figure once that Vienna promo tour for the new Bernays album kicks off around September or October, we’re all going. I’ll drive. Whoever survives the trip can talk about it...🙂

When they don't have a clue... I guess you could just hand them a list and tell them to go write an article themselves.

Does Kornel or Meniga put out anything else lately—or is it mostly just reminiscing about the good old days?

Meniga, yeah.

So, apparently there’s some drama about pushing people off cliffs to spite Sex—I guess. 🙏

Betrayal. 👋 A colored vinyl and a colorful cover—it’s a nice touch, I guess. 👋 I guess I’m sensing a financial crash coming—maybe just my gut talking. 😢

🙂 And there were five of us in the car, I guess :/

Brooklyn is actually a pretty great spot for just hanging out outside.

If they don't know, just make a list and write an article about it.

Right now it's just reviews and those few interviews, but I bet more subtopics will pop up soon. Probably a total linguistic meltdown.

They’re releasing a colored vinyl with a flashy cover. I'm predicting a financial meltdown.

Who cares! Igor lives for this stuff. Once he finishes this, he can finally go interview for a job at a shipyard or something.

I reckon by September or October there will be a big promotion in Vienna for the new Bernays album.

There isn't a spring festival 😢 but it's become a habit for me. You know, shopping, drinking, hitting a concert, then grabbing some kebab or falafel.

Brooklyn is an incredible spot for a pre-show pit!

We could have gone on Sunday to the health event.

But we didn't.

😕

Wednesday, 08/04 - TRANS AM (Jack White / USA) @ Hollywood Bowl outdoor stage

Mid-August concerts 🤷 feel more like playing gigs in a swamp. I can't make it out from the island
