I mean, wouldn't it be great if someone from this forum delegation actually stepped up?

Seriously... some people get 1000 points just for hitting caps lock, yet this idiot (if I posted this on an expatriate subreddit, they’d probably label it gross harassment of users) gets a pathetic 45 points for his sick outbursts and insults!

Look, I don't mind a little rough language sometimes, but this guy is absolute bottom-of-the-barrel.
If you talked to someone like that in real life, you'd lose a head—but that doesn't mean we have to sit here virtually and take whatever twisted crap these freaks want to throw at us.

Look, this topic (which definitely doesn't belong here) is about the New York City - pdf expatriates thread! Because of New York City, most people (not all, but most) are right where they are: living as part of the expatriates!

The memorial topic for the anniversary of Vukovar that used to be on the expatriates site was moved and deleted. We’d bring that thread up every year, and we never got into political fights over it. This year (now that Kiki is modding), someone posted the Vukovar thread in the morning, and by noon, it was gone. Moved and then nuked. ☕Kiki claims it doesn't fit there.

As for the NYC thread... it was opened purely to stir the pot.
The OP didn't actually ask anything concrete (honestly, she could've found or asked everything she wanted on the NYC thread already under the Tourism section of the PDF) and after two totally unserious posts, she just vanished. She didn't get any answers worth bragging about (not even Kiki, who spent New Year's there—presumably out of pure excitement—could find the energy or time to describe the vibe or that "heavenly nation" city), other than waking up some people's nostalgia...
That thread turned into a playground for those "questionable characters with shady roots" who finally got a chance to talk trash without getting banned (unlike on the Politics PDF). They're basically trashing everything that isn't their specific brand of patriotism—everything that isn't "their" way. They've been acting like total jerks in there.
And anyone who tries to push back gets punished (classic old-school authoritarian move).
Posts get deleted or users get banned. Meanwhile, the posts from these shady characters that match the headline style? Those get rewarded!

As long as that NYC topic is visible on the expatriates site, we aren't going there.

They’ve finally found a way to smear everything that isn't their own brand—disguising it all under some old-school, bitter tradition—without facing any consequences, unlike what you'd see in a mainstream paper like the New York Post. Honestly, they’re just making a complete mess of things here.
And anyone who stands in their way... well, they'll deal with the consequences, I guess. Maybe they got penalized. I guess. Maybe some kind of communist school. I guess.
Posts are either being deleted or archived. I guess those posts written by people who don't even belong here—the ones that actually follow the title's lead—might actually get rewarded. Maybe.

As long as there's a diaspora topic about NYC on the horizon, I guess we aren't going back there.

It’s interesting how often this issue pops up on the forum. I haven't really seen anyone complain about the exact opposite here. It seems like the moderator training regarding strictness only ever goes one way, I guess.😉

I honestly don't get why this specific individual hasn't been banned yet.
If this kind of behavior isn't grounds for a permanent ban, then I have no idea what is:

"You're sick, you fascist bitch, I hope your dead mother rots...

I don't know where this person came from or who raised them, but there is absolutely no excuse for talking like this.

The thread over on the expatriates forum is locked right now, thanks to Het—who actually showed a bit more common sense and empathy than the rest of them.

Honestly, I’m totally out of the loop here. I don't know who's running the show or what the deal is with all these players. 🤷

So, I’d love it if the people involved could just step up and write something smart about what they actually think of this whole mess...

That’s just my take, and it applies to anyone using that kind of
"language." It doesn't matter where they're from or how they identify their nationality.

Maybe they should spend their permanent ban learning how to be a decent human being. Buy a book on etiquette and actually read it, learn something,
practice it with the people around them—at home, on the bus, at work, and so on. ☕
Then, as someone trained in basic manners, they could come back to this forum and write
like a civilized person, regardless of what their background is.
