Not sure where this belongs, but I need some info.

It’s the holiday season and I’ve got this sudden urge to give back. I know there isn't much I can do to make a massive difference, but I read somewhere about donating hair to help people battling cancer who lose their hair during treatment. It’s a small thing, but the gesture matters. Does anyone here actually know the specifics—where to go, how the process works, all that? All I know so far is that the minimum length required is about 5 inches, and I still need to grow mine out another inch or so before I'm eligible. Who do I even talk to, and what are the other requirements? Anyone on here have the scoop?

Check out Locks of Love.
I think that's pretty much the main organization for this kind of thing here in the States. 😢

I don't think we have anything quite like that here in the States. 😢

So that's it? That's what I heard. Thanks, at least now I know. 😁
Honestly, I think more people in America should be organizing stuff like this. It’s not even that hard—just let your hair grow and then cut it off. You make a kid happy, and it's just a solid gesture. 🙂

I honestly think we should get something like this started here in the States too. I mean, the hardest part is just letting your hair grow out before you chop it off, and besides, making a kid happy is such a beautiful gesture. 🙂

No worries!🙂
I have tons of hair, and I actually thought about doing something like this last year when I was considering a massive chop. But from what I can tell, there isn't an organization quite like it here. When I looked into it, the only thing that really popped up was Locks of Love.

In the US, you can cut your hair and give it to wig makers, but they aren't usually linked to kids fighting cancer or other serious illnesses.

Greetings. I must apologize for digging up such an old thread after all this time...
I have quite a bit of length to my hair, and I am planning on getting a significant haircut in the near future. Does anyone happen to know where one might donate their hair here in the States?
