Has anyone tried Cholestyramine (Questran)?

Has anyone here tried this medication, specifically following gallbladder surgery? Did it actually help with anything?
I’m a little uneasy about it, since the label says it’s primarily meant for lowering cholesterol. I know those types of drugs aren't exactly harmless.

My gastroenterologist didn't even bother checking my actual cholesterol levels before prescribing it. He just basically said, "Give it a shot, it's not like it's dangerous," and told me to see how I felt. It's for the issues I've been having since my gallbladder surgery.

Does anyone have any experience with this drug??
