The Hunt for Red October (1990)

I've had a few movie nights lately dedicated to those "underwater" flicks... and man, I gotta say, there are some seriously heavy hitters in this genre—some of which I stumbled upon totally by accident—so I figured a poll would be a pretty cool way to kick things off. You guys into movies with this kind of vibe? I've listed some of the big ones here (left out a couple since they barely use a sub as their main setting even if people lump them in there—like >)... and honestly, they're all pretty legendary. Personally, my vote goes to >... that whole "silent submarine" thing still gets me every single time I watch it.

My first attempt at a poll, so I probably messed something up... go easy on me 😁

Yep, forgot to actually include the options for what to vote for. Hey mods, any chance you could help me out with that?

Basically, let’s hold off on voting until things get sorted out. 😁

Personally, I am leaning heavily toward The Hunt for Red October. You just can't beat a lineup like McTiernan, Connery, Neill, and Baldwin; it’s practically a guaranteed win.

I was reminiscing recently about those old black-and-white submarine movies set during World War II—there was one in particular featuring Curd Jürgens as the German captain. Honestly, kill me now, but the title is escaping me entirely.

I also quite enjoyed that movie starring Armand Assante about the first submarine used during the American Civil War. It was such a compelling drama, though I can't recall the title (of course) and I'm not even certain if it was originally a TV movie. Regardless, it was very well done.

No—that’s strictly for admins. Just start a new thread and try the poll again; we'll clear this one out.
