Since I’ve been handed a formal warning by the moderator Lady Gaga for supposedly violating subforum rules—despite my comments being made with nothing but the best intentions—it seems she takes her role quite seriously, and has kindly redirected me over here.

The only issue is that this particular subforum is meant for entertainment. That is its primary and sole purpose. The constant stream of warnings and bans for the most trivial nonsense feels excessive to me; rather than fostering actual discussion, it stifles the vibe, turning what should be lighthearted fun into an incredibly awkward, draining, and unnecessary chore that kills the mood entirely.

The evidence of this can be seen not just in the list of banned users, but in my own post, which was "well-intentionally" flagged and moved here, even though I had hoped to avoid this by attempting a civil dialogue with the Big Brother moderators. I don't believe this should be subject to censorship or dispute; frankly, anyone who has moved past puberty should be capable of respecting a different perspective. If the moderators acted less like rigid bureaucrats and more like people willing to listen to user feedback and ideas, we wouldn't be facing these situations, and there would be far fewer warnings and locked threads. But apparently, the fun lies in exercising authority over others.

If you want something truly ironic, look no further than the fact that the one thing the moderators were terrified of—intense tension or insults based on nationality, given that this is a regional Big Brother show—is nowhere to be found.🙂.
The real problem clearly lies elsewhere.

My only goal in starting this thread is to suggest that the moderation could afford to be a bit more lenient. It shouldn't be the case that anyone typing a few words in all caps immediately gets slapped with a penalty or shut down for minor slip-ups. One example of this is how they locked a thread started by one particular resident. I couldn't wrap my head around why. People who actually know her even chimed in. Honestly, even a high-profile socialite showed up in the gossip party at the chicken coop, yet nobody locked that thread or banned her from gossiping.

It’s even more frustrating when they cite the need to "stay on topic."🤣
And what else are we supposed to talk about if not their interpersonal drama, seasoned with plenty of humor and a little innocent chatting? What else is there?🤷

Still, the worst part is when I’m having a great time chatting and laughing with someone one evening... then I wake up the next morning to find everything has gone gray.😕 😱
When this becomes a pattern, you start wondering: am I next? Maybe I should just distance myself from this PDF before I run into any more trouble?

Honestly, it’s not like we’re splitting atoms here.

Dear placidmarlin3,

You have received an infraction at Reddit.

Reason: Violating (sub)forum rules
-------
This isn't the place to comment on moderation... There is an entire subforum dedicated to that. Use it.
-------

This infraction is worth 30 point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire.

If it is permissible to express an opinion regarding the moderation of this PDF without being sanctioned, because penalizing an opinion sends a message of censorship and creates unnecessary tension and an unpleasant atmosphere...
Regarding this particular thread—which, let’s be honest, is primarily just a bunch of us messing around and being irreverent—I’d like to suggest, in the spirit of good faith, that the moderation could afford to be a little more relaxed. We should probably keep in mind
that this is meant to be entertainment. From what I can gather, everyone here is actually getting along quite well; there aren't any real negative vibes or even the kind of friction you might
have expected, specifically regarding those agitators from across the border that everyone was worried about. Honestly, I don't see why the moderators need to invite that tension by over-policing us. So what if we
get a little rowdy? How much harm is anyone actually being done? This is a Big Brother thread, for heaven's sake. Where's the crime in someone typing a few words in all caps? It isn't like we're splitting atoms or trying to save the world; we're just having a laugh.

All the best,

Douglas Flores5,

You have received an infraction on Reddit.

Reason: Violation of forum rules (sub-forum etiquette)
-------
Look, I’m being completely objective here—mostly because I’m just acting as an assistant—but if the rules state that commenting on moderation isn't allowed on these threads, then it simply isn't allowed.
Consider this a formal warning.

being a moderator means staying impartial and not letting your own biases run the show... if you want to vent your personal opinions by locking threads and deleting posts, then you should just go build your own website and host your own forum to do all that—not here. Let's be clear about that.
All the best,
Reddit

OH, GREAT—and it's sent to me by some big-shot socialite, Lady Gaga at that!
And all within the "Attention, attention!!! — LATEST NEWS, FRESH MODERATORS!!" thread.

AND NOW THEY GO AND DELETE MY POST TOO... UNBELIEVABLE.

Honestly, I don't care what you do, but learn how to behave on this forum once and for all.
If you're having that much trouble following basic etiquette, you could always go sell carrots at a farmer's market, or find something equally productive to do with your time.

These rules aren't exactly news; they've been around forever, so please, just get it through your heads already.
