I am truly bored of complaining about the exact same issues... Some moderator in the politics section—whoever they may be—is once again selectively deleting posts (including mine), effectively stripping any substance from the discussion... Here is a controversial thread for context...

Is there a "fifth column" within America?

Two trolls surfaced in this thread... The first (Adam Collins4) started veering off-topic with some nonsense regarding statistical formulas and the definition of expectation—to which I provided a perfectly coherent rebuttal... However, my response was scrubbed, while his subsequent rambling about that same irrelevant formula remains untouched... He even had the audacity to threaten me, acting as if he were the moderator himself... Here is the proof:

http://reddit.com/showpost.php?p=22212034&postcount=95

The second one (..a unda) initiated his derailment by asking for alternative ways to say "stop bullshitting me." When I gave him a direct answer, that was deleted too—yet he is permitted to continue his spamming spree in the same direction... He even went as far as to openly insult me without consequence, suggesting I "eat shit"... See for yourself:

http://reddit.com/showpost.php?p=22213731&postcount=108

My attempt to return fire using much more civilized methods was also deleted... Meanwhile, he is allowed to persist in his trolling behavior... Proof:

http://reddit.com/showpost.php?p=22214202&postcount=114

In this very same thread, my arguments regarding my desire to discuss Nina Pavić were also wiped out. Why? Because Pavić is considered a Republican figure, according to the loudest critics of the Republican Party... So, I suggested we talk about Pavić instead... But all of that was erased, presumably to hide the blatant inconsistency of those who claim to despise the Republican Party...

There is much more to it, and that is just within this single thread... I have no idea if those who called me a simpleton or an uneducated hack were ever actually banned... Everything has been deleted. It all becomes utterly meaningless when the record is manipulated like this...

Honestly, if I were you, I’d start grabbing screenshots of everything you post right now, just so you have the receipts to prove they’re being wiped. I totally get where you're coming from because I've dealt with this exact same nonsense before—one particular moderator, who I'm sure you know exactly who I mean—kept nuking my posts too, and it makes the whole thread look pretty damn pathetic and disjointed when half the conversation is missing. 👎

I know exactly what kind of situation you're dealing with; I’ve had a moderator—and I won't name names, though we both know who it is—do the exact same thing to me. When posts vanish like that, the whole thread starts looking pretty pathetic to read. 👎

Well, frankly, I don't have that much time to waste... Besides, I am clearly wasting my time by posting on this site, which, let's be honest, isn't even a real community anymore.

Look, it would only take you a few seconds to set that up, and it’d honestly make things way easier for you when you eventually have to prove they're deleting your posts. 😉

In truth, evidence is useless here... To whom? Everyone is well aware of how this censorship works, yet nobody lifted a finger last time I filed a complaint. They just stayed quiet for a couple of days before returning to their usual tactics regarding "politics"...

And then they have the audacity to claim this site is just for entertainment, rather than just another one in a long line of politically monitored media outlets... I can't decide if that's more pathetic or simply tragic. I think I'll stop posting here. If the moderators in the politics section were aiming for this specific outcome, then they are well on their way...

And then they have the nerve to claim this site is just for fun, rather than being yet another media outlet under political oversight... I can't tell if that's more pathetic or just plain sad... I think I'm done posting here... If those politics moderators were aiming for this result, well, mission accomplished...

That’s why I’m telling you, take a screenshot, and if you see a specific post gets nuked, go straight to the admin instead of the mod. But most of them won't even look at your complaints or reply to messages; they pretty much hide behind the automated system. Of course, now the mods will pull the "we aren't obligated to explain why we deleted your posts or gave you a warning" card. It's a crappy rule, but they stick to it religiously. 🤷 Most of the mods on this site don't even deserve to be running these subforums...

Two trolls popped up in this thread... The first one (Adam Collins4) went completely off-topic talking about some damn statistical formula and the definition of expectation, which I answered quite thoroughly... The second one (..a unda) kicked things off by derailing the conversation with a question about different ways to say "stop bullshitting"... When I gave him a perfectly fine answer, that got deleted too, yet he's allowed to keep spamming in that same direction... He even openly insulted me without any penalty, suggesting I "eat shit"... Here's the proof...

http://reddit.com/showpost.php?p=22213731&postcount=108

My attempt to give him a taste of his own medicine—but in a much more civilized way—was also scrubbed... Meanwhile, he gets a free pass to keep trolling... Here's the proof...

http://reddit.com/showpost.php?p=22214202&postcount=114

In that very same thread, they also deleted my argument about wanting to talk about Nina Pavić... Apparently, Pavić is a Republican guy, according to all the biggest critics of the Republican Party... So I said, "Fine, let's talk about Pavić then..." But of course, it was all deleted—probably so nobody notices the blatant hypocrisy of those Republican haters...

There's plenty more where that came from, and that's just within this one thread... I honestly don't know if the people calling me an idiot or a student of the Jankovics school have even been banned... It's all gone. It all makes zero sense anymore...

And where exactly am I threatening you?

I'm the troll? You're the one who started babbling about a successful season...

Even though it's the only meaningful comparison to last year's season... compared to which this one is a total disaster...

As for statistical expectations and trying to push them through as probability, I won't bother... you're the one who brought that up in the first place...

All you've done is expose your own ignorance... it's just a cheap attempt at what you're accusing everyone else of doing... trolling...

Well, I guess I’ll go ahead and file my own complaint regarding the deletion of one entire post and the editing of another:

Could the moderators please explain what exactly was wrong with stating that the Red Brigade is a "bloody communist terrorist organization."

(That’s actually why my post was edited—they even changed the meaning entirely; it ended up making it look like I agree with revolution and that I'm calling the current administration "the fathers and icons of communism.")

Also, I'm wondering what the issue was with my comment about how certain media outlets act politically, trying to smear specific ideologies... that whole post was just wiped out.

I didn't personally insult anyone; I was just pointing out a trend within a section of our media (in a thread that was originally dedicated to the media, which was merged with this one for some reason I can't quite wrap my head around: http://www.reddit.com/showthread.php?t=474724&page=5 Is there a fifth column in America?

Thanks

It’s blindingly obvious that the political moderators actually enjoy having trolls around...

Take, for instance, someone who just can't help but throw insults left and right.

StriborCumez said:Look, Adam Collins4, you can see they are just idiots. There's no reason to take offense from people like that; if anything, you should be worried if they actually liked you.

And then there's this:

libertango said:Are you really going to let yourself get rattled by someone whose username is clearly derived from whatever substance they're snorting all day? Constant nitpicking and sniping are part of the fun on Reddit, but while some users need a good reality check in every single thread, others fall into the category where you have to apply the rule: life is too short.
Those who have basically fried their brains through excessive "dreaming" belong to that second group..

These two move through the threads insulting and trolling without a care in the world, which makes me seriously wonder if the moderators are actually hiding behind those accounts.

Adam Collins4 manages to derail almost every discussion into off-topic nonsense, yet the moderators don't seem to give a damn about it either.

And why? Because they're playing the same tune—they share the exact same political leanings.

Meanwhile, anyone on the other side of the aisle gets hit with a ban, and their posts are wiped away without any legitimate reason whatsoever.

Nathan Bailey65, show me one single post of yours that actually has an argument... then maybe we can move this along...

I'm still sitting here waiting for you to explain which specific entries lead you to believe that the Red Brigade and the White know what's really going on in the States...

Since we're already handing out grievances...

I've got one myself... why haven't the Red Brigade and the White been banned, yet their insults somehow keep getting scrubbed?

And why hasn't Nathan Bailey65 been slapped with a warning for trolling and basically campaigning for those very insults?

And just like that, we see some threads being selectively shut down.

The discussion regarding the surprising way Ivo Josipović has been championing the diaspora is being closed off—yet, curiously, thread number 3217.a concerning the actual voting rights of the diaspora remains wide open.

I'm with you on that...

They get real selective about which threads they shut down... meanwhile, thread number 9651—the one all about Mason—is still hanging on by a thread, and now they've even started digging into what the guy ate for lunch...

Casey Robinson2 said:And here we see how topics are selectively shut down.

The thread regarding Ivo Josipović’s surprising support for the diaspora is being closed, yet the separate discussion on diaspora voting rights remains wide open.

I sent a private message to Resonator regarding the closing of the Josipović thread, but there was no response...

The moderator in question also failed to ban a user named "libertango," despite my formal report of her insults... Not only did he ignore her blatant disrespect, but he also allowed her to intentionally derail the Josipović topic—which he then proceeded to close himself... The posts I reported have been wiped clean, leaving no trace... Only this single one remains, and even that hasn't resulted in a ban...

I already told you once before: go find someone else to bother so you can stop jumping down my throat on absolutely every single post.

Generally, when I have an issue with someone whose opinion I actually respect, I handle it via private message—but you are far too taxing on my nerves....
So, I will say it again.

Just go bother someone else and stop picking at me in every damn post.

http://reddit.com/showpost.php?p=22325337&postcount=93

It is unbelievable that even this post hasn't faced sanctions, considering I was slapped with a warning just for commenting "I'm gonna write, I'm gonna crap" on a single post...

At the end of the closed thread, Resonator notes that a topic on the diaspora still exists... Even though Josipović explicitly stated, "The Constitution and the law mandate that people from the diaspora have the right to vote. There is no need for polls on this matter, as for me, it is a constitutional certainty."

Instead of debating the most significant political shift in America recently, we are being pushed toward discussing diaspora voting rights—something that practically nobody disputes anymore... The Democratic Party and Josipović are shutting down the actual news, while Resonator keeps the secondary topic open... yet shuts down the Josipović discussion... What kind of logic is that?

Man, if only they only deleted posts in the "politics" section.

The truth is, they’re scrubbing stuff everywhere, and let me tell you, the standards are totally inconsistent.

It’s wild. You’ll see someone drop massive insults—usually the guy who actually started the whole fight in the first place (maybe because he’s some big shot or a buddy of the mods)—and he gets a free pass. Meanwhile, someone else gets slapped with a warning or a ban for way less serious stuff...

It works the same way with the trolls. You’ve got people constantly bashing something, driving thirty different people on a single thread absolutely insane, and they get away with it. But the second you call them out? Boom, your post is gone. Honestly, at this rate, they might as well just go ahead and keep their little monologues to themselves.

You can call someone "brain dead" or "completely incompetent" and nothing happens. But heaven forbid you actually point out the moderators and ask them to step in and handle it—suddenly, you're the one getting sanctioned just for calling them out.

At the end of the day, you’re walking on eggshells because you have no idea what’s allowed and what isn't. You don't know what's going to be nuked and what’s going to stay up. It’s frustrating because I see posts being deleted even when there isn't a single insult, while the ones full of actual vitriol just sit there untouched. They don't even bother to issue sanctions. It makes zero sense to me.

I really find myself wondering what the point of all this is. This site is supposed to be a place where you can actually share your opinion, right? If they’re going to enforce rules, then for crying out loud, apply them equally to everyone. It shouldn't be a situation where someone relentlessly harasses you until you finally snap and respond, only for the mods to swoop in and hand both of you a red card.

And of course, they always conveniently forget who actually kicked things off in the first place....

Just my two cents on the whole mess.

They’re being incredibly selective about which threads they shut down. It’s a joke. They’ll let the 9,651st thread about Stjepan Mason stay live—where people have already started digging into what the man ate for breakfast just to be petty—but anything else gets nuked immediately...

And honestly, nobody has even bothered to start a thread about what kind of food was served at the local diner in town or what they were drinking down at the Blue Basement. And you, 🙈... If you actually marry Kerum Marmontov, you’ll probably change your name just to fit in. You're such a troll. Seriously, have some shame. 😍

bluefalcon14 said:I sent a DM to Resonator regarding the decision to lock that thread about Ivo Josipović, but I haven't heard a single word back... silence.

That same moderator also failed to ban a user named "libertango," even though I went out of my way to formally report her insults... It’s not just that he ignored her blatant disrespect; he actually allowed her to intentionally derail the entire discussion about Ivo Josipović before abruptly shutting the thread down himself. To make matters worse, he wiped away the specific posts I reported, leaving absolutely no trace of them. All that remains is this single comment, which, unsurprisingly, hasn't been flagged either. Is anyone actually watching the watchers here?

I’ve already told you once before: just go away and find something else to mess with. Seriously, can you please just go do something productive for once instead of jumping down my throat in every single post?

Look, I usually prefer to handle things privately. When I have an issue with someone whose opinion I actually respect, I’ll reach out via DM to settle it one-on-one. But you? You’re just way too much for my nerves to handle right now.
Look, I’m saying it again. For the record.

Will you just go screw off and find something else to do? Seriously, just once, can you stop breathing down my neck on every single damn post?

I don't know about you, but I’ve been staring at this thread for a while now, and the level of delusion on display is honestly staggering. Is anyone else actually feeling this, or am I just losing my mind? We’re sitting here watching the political landscape shift under our feet, yet people act like everything is business as usual. Look at the way everyone is reacting to the recent shifts in the Republican Party. It’s almost comical how quickly people jump from one extreme to the other without a second thought. Do we really think these tactical maneuvers are meant for our benefit? Or is it all just a grand performance to keep us distracted while the real decisions are made behind closed doors? It feels like we're stuck in this endless loop of predictable drama. Every time a major policy change rolls around, there's the same old outcry, the same tired arguments, and the same inevitable result. Does anyone truly believe that changing the face of leadership changes the underlying machinery of the system? It's like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic—it might look different, but the ship is still heading straight for the iceberg. And then you have the pundits on Reddit trying to dissect every single move as if they’ve uncovered some deep, hidden conspiracy. Most of it is just noise. Pure, unadulterated noise designed to keep engagement high and critical thinking low. Why do we fall for it every single time? I’m not saying I have all the answers—far from it. In fact, I’m more skeptical than ever. But I can’t help but wonder when we’ll collectively decide to stop being so easily swayed by the theater of it all. Are we waiting for something specific to happen before we realize the game is rigged? Or are we just content to sit in the audience and clap on cue?

It’s honestly unbelievable that this post hasn't been sanctioned yet. I mean, really? I got slapped with a warning just for leaving a comment on a thread that said, "I'm gonna pee, I'm gonna poop." How is that any different? It makes you wonder what the actual standard is around here.

Resonator wraps up this closed thread by pointing out that there’s actually a separate discussion happening regarding the diaspora. It’s an interesting pivot, especially since Ivo Josipović was incredibly blunt about it. He made it crystal clear: "The Constitution and federal law guarantee voting rights to our citizens living abroad. There is absolutely no room for debate or polling on this matter; for me, this is a strictly constitutional issue." Can we really argue with that? When it comes to fundamental legal rights, is there even any point in holding a survey?

Instead of actually tackling the single biggest political shift we've seen in America lately, we’re being forced to spin our wheels debating the voting rights of the diaspora—a topic that almost nobody even disputes anymore. It feels like the Democratic Party and the President are just trying to shut the conversation down entirely, while Resonator is the only one left keeping the door open. But then, they go about silencing the President himself? Honestly, what kind of logic is that?

Why on earth would he hand out a ban when she isn't even breaking any of his rules? Honestly, posts like hers are exactly what this place needs. She hasn't been penalized for a single one of these entries, yet we all know how it goes—moderators will happily hand out bans to anyone who dares to disagree, driven by nothing but pure spite. It’s always the same pattern: they'll slap someone with a ban for "trolling" without offering a single concrete reason or a shred of actual argument. Is that really how we're running things now?🙄

Malice, bias, sheer incompetence. Honestly, I’d use much harsher language to describe our "distinguished" moderators over in the politics section, but what’s the point?
Those types who jump right into a debate just so they can slap a ban on anyone who dares to disagree? It’s pathetic. Truly bottom-of-the-barrel behavior worth 🤮

I wasn't really part of this specific drama, but bluefalcon14 is spot on. On political subreddits, posts get deleted selectively. Bans are handed out selectively. Threads get shut down selectively. Everything is handled through a lens of bias; selective enforcement is basically the entire point of moderation.
