And of course 🙏Bakele and that guy from Eritrea absolutely crushed it—they left everyone else in the dust. The only one who actually stood a chance was good old Kenenisa.😁

So, Martin crossed the line in Beijing and got DQ'ed because he drifted into the Zimbabwe lane during the turn—which was actually behind him, so it was more of an issue than when Stewart was getting in the way of that little sweetheart ahead of her. Honestly? If we’re being real, I think the disqualification was fair, but man, I don't think he deserved any of that hassle.

IMO that’s gotta be a disqualification

as far as I know, that's always been the rule, even if someone just barely steps over the line☕

Yeah, pretty sure the rules say it's an automatic DQ, but I bet the Jamaica lobby is pulling some serious strings right now. We'll see...

BOLT 🙏🙏

These results are unreal. Honestly, it’s great seeing Jamaica bring those overhyped Americans to their knees in the sprints. The 4x100 relays should be interesting—they ought to walk away with gold if they can just manage to stay clean on their handoffs.

I remember watching the 100m final back in Seoul a few years ago and thinking it was one of the greatest races ever, despite Ben Johnson's doping scandal. But what we’re witnessing today is on another level. He’s only 22; if he stays healthy, he’ll own the sprinting world for the next decade.

I just hope he isn't playing dirty and is actually clean. Even Carl Lewis never had doping allegations stick to him, whereas Ben Johnson—who is perfectly healthy now—left us with nothing but controversy. And we all know how things ended for Flo. As for those world records from the 70s and 80s coming out of the Eastern Bloc that still look like science fiction today? There's really no point in even debating them.

Honestly though, if we're being fair, I think the DQ stands, but whatever.

So it was on the 200m, and since you shorten the distance on a 200, the DQ makes total sense. You can't even compare it to the 100m.

Kenenisa Bekele🙏🙏🙏
I guess I actually dig Kenenisa more than Bekele, by like 100x.

is alright and all, but honestly? I'm way more into him—like, 100x more!

Kenenisa Bekele
And get this—the wedding is gonna have like 2,500 people there, plus it’s being broadcast on national TV. 🙏

a few years🤦😁

There is the existence of a documentary film. 🤦

Back during the Olympics in Seoul, I still hadn't quite wrapped my head around what constitutes a sport, athletics, or whatever else...😁

Biggest letdowns (or massive shocks) so far:

1. Yelena Isinbaeva (seriously, award for stupidity of the year—maybe even the decade? Just refusing to show up at those "lower" heights... that kind of arrogance always comes back to bite you in the end)
2. Krisztián Pars (literally the best this year, yet somehow walks away without even a medal)
3. Johan Vaal (had the best result of the season, then just tanks out in the semifinals)
4. Angela Taylor (was a total lock for the finals—maybe even a medal—before the championships, but ended up crashing out in the first round)
5. Gulnar Galkin (the absolute queen of the steeplechase lately, so seeing her go home empty-handed was wild)
6. Meseret Defar (everyone thought she was a sure bet for at least a medal, if not gold, but nope—nothing)
7. Nadezhd Alekhin (had the top ranking this season, but then jumped a whole meter shorter during quals and, well, obviously missed the final)

Last year at the Olympics, Churandy Welti lost his medal just because he stepped over the line. This girl was basically running all over Fraser's track.

What if she didn't stay in her lane after the finish line?

Fraser 😍🙏

Jamaica's crushing it—both men's and women's 4x100 relays are basically breaking records.☕

Man, Jamaica is absolutely tearing it up—both their men's and women's 4x100 relay teams are basically hunting down world records right now ☕

The guys are looking solid out there... I'm honestly expecting a record from them, even if it feels like they're missing a really killer fourth leg to seal the deal. As for the women? It’s a tough climb, but they're getting so close! Man, I would love to see them finally shatter that record too.

Powell’s gonna be huge for the guys. He was the reason they were smashing records back in Beijing, so if he pulls that off again, someone's record is definitely toast...

Check this out. Bolt at 9.4?! http://i29.tinypic.com/98bmo4.jpg

Was he actually faster than the clock, or was that his real time? 🙏🙏

At 9.3, he was already crossing the line. But surely that's just a reaction time thing? They gotta go by the photo finish, right? 🤷

It’s even clearer here. He’s sitting at 9.3 on the mark. 😁

Nicholas Lee said:Please, everyone, take a look at this. Usain Bolt running a 9.4?! http://i29.tinypic.com/98bmo4.jpg

Was he actually faster than the clock, or was that just how much he ran... 🙏🙏

At 9.3, his foot was already crossing the line. But I assume that’s just a timing reference. They probably rely on the photo finish for the actual result. 🤷

No, there's always that slight delay on TV. If you freeze the frame on Tyson Gay, it looks like he clocked a 9.5. Or if you look back at Usain Bolt's race in Beijing, where it shows him at a 9.5 when he actually hit 9.69...
so I don't think there's much room for any conspiracy theories here... 👍

I know they exist. I just checked some other races and nobody's getting nearly three tenths added to their finish time like this. Usually, it's barely a tenth at most. 😁

Maybe the clock was just slow? Usain Bolt is faster than the clock. 🙏🙏
