Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2011)

Screenwriter John Fusco is breathing new life into the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
He’s already officially signed on for the new flick.

Slowly but surely, scripts are being cooked up for the return of Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael, and their mentor Splinter in a new movie slated for 2011.

Our favorite sewer-dwelling heroes—who basically live for pizza whenever they aren't kicking villain butt—were huge hits back in the early '90s when the New Line Cinema version pulled in over $323 million globally.
The 2007 animated reboot also helped reignite the hype, raking in $95 million for Warner Bros.

I'm sure Fusco can handle all the action sequences just fine.

The guy was a martial arts prodigy by age 12, even training at a Shaolin studio.

He worked on "The Forbidden Kingdom" with Jackie Chan and Jet Li. He also penned the script for the new "The Seven Samurai" for The Weinstein Company.
Other credits under his belt include "Spanish nobleman" and "Young Guns."

Fusco's project arrives right as we hit the 25th anniversary of the turtles, dubbed "Shell-ebration." The festivities wrap up this week at Comic-Con in San Diego, where people are talking about the new movie, digging through old archives, and sorting through scripts and rights from the classic era...

Great, I’m probably going to wet myself when he hears about this... and he’s only three. To hell with these turtles... I’m out here showering with their shampoo, eating off their plates, and Donatello—whose heart beats like a church bell all day long—is staring me down from the wall because of that clock. Now that he's seen the movie poster 🤷
If only they were female turtles...

When we finally left Pittsburgh, all I had was my Leonardo toy. He came with those two little plastic swords, but I managed to lose one of them somewhere along the way...

Man, I was actually tearing up...

I was totally lost after the whole bit about the sword. I honestly thought we were talking about heading down to the coast or something.

Man, I tried heading down to the beach too, but there just wasn't any room left for a turtle... what a letdown...

It honestly drives me up the wall when they claim it won't be out for another two years—I mean, 2011 feels like an absolute eternity away.

I was obsessed with the turtles growing up, and honestly, nothing has changed; I’ve still got them on my radar, and my collection includes all four original movies plus the first three seasons of the animated series.

Those Ninja Turtles will always be a part of me. 🙂

The Forbidden Kingdom is legendary to me because of the Jet Li vs. Jackie Chan fight (I guess Li was actually the stronger one, lol), so if the turtles end up being half as good, it’ll be alright... 👍

I don't have kids, but back when I was a kid, the Ninja Turtles were my absolute favorite cartoon. 🙏 One of them, actually— 🤔

That 2007 animated flick actually worked for me. Plot-wise, it was arguably better than those earlier movies—though I’ll give the first one credit, it’s pretty solid.

And yeah, growing up, I used to catch their cartoons on USA Network every single morning. I was genuinely bummed when I lost access to USA Network just because of Nickelodeon
