I’ve been working away in Microsoft Excel:

- Sheet 1 acts as my product database, organized by SKU, quantity, and other details so I can track everything I have in stock;

- Sheet 2 is where I generate my invoices.

So, here is what I am wondering: is there a way to link these two sheets together? Ideally, when I’m putting together an invoice and enter the quantities sold, I would love for Microsoft Excel to automatically subtract those amounts from my inventory list (meaning, from that main database where all my SKUs and stock levels live)🤔

I hope I explained that clearly enough, and I’m sure someone out there might be able to point me in the right direction! 😁
Thanks so much in advance

You might want to take a look at this tutorial. I have a feeling you'll find exactly what you're looking for in there.

You can only answer an open-ended question with an open-ended answer—of course you can! Excel is an incredibly powerful tool, but you haven't really framed the problem in a specific format yet.

- You start with a set structure or a given framework, and from there, you hunt for the solution.

I’ve personally gone through this tutorial and found it incredibly helpful for my daily workflow, as I've already put several of these techniques into practice. However, when it comes to my specific struggle with inventory tracking, I haven't quite been able to find the right solution yet—at least not for me. Perhaps you could offer some more targeted guidance on that front, Vincent?

And I have to say, Benjamin Wilson7 makes an excellent point! 😁
I would love to attach a file here so you can see exactly what I'm dealing with, but does anyone know how I can upload an Excel file? 🤷

Best regards,

I’d love to just attach the file right here so you could see exactly what I’m talking about, but does anyone actually know how one goes about uploading an Excel spreadsheet on this platform?

Honestly, you could just upload it to MediaFire or Megaupload and drop the link here; or, if we want to keep things even simpler, just shoot it over to my email address:

We'll figure something out.
