Hernia surgery under local anesthesia

Hey there
Just got diagnosed with a hernia.
I'm looking into where I can get the surgery done—either using the Lichtenstein method or the tension-free technique... since they do them under local anesthesia, the recovery should be faster and way less painful.
Washington, D.C. or San Francisco, preferably at a private clinic because this is super urgent...

Most hospitals these days pretty much use that method. You can do it under local anesthesia, but honestly, it’s usually better to go with a spinal; things can get a little nauseating if you just stick to local. Full recovery takes about 30 days, I guess, though you can usually get back to your normal routine in two or three. You don't necessarily need to be at some massive medical center either—smaller facilities might not use those specific techniques as often, but you can definitely get the surgery done there sooner.
