So, I just picked this up today from a General Electric store, and I've already run into a major issue. Basically, whenever there’s any color on the screen other than white, this single green dot shows up. I'm fully aware the monitor is defective, but does anyone know how the warranty process actually works here? I've heard that dead pixels are sometimes within an "acceptable" range, but what am I looking at here? Is this actually a dead pixel, or is it something else entirely?

I’ve heard rumors that they have certain tolerances for dead pixels, but what am I looking at here? Is this a dead pixel, or is it something else entirely?

If you ask me, it sounds like a dead one. Try this: turn the power off, apply a little pressure right where that pixel is sitting, and then flip the switch back on. Or, alternatively, hold that spot down while you suddenly flash a bright, high-contrast image on the screen. See if anything happens.

So, I tried applying a bit of pressure, but it didn't really do anything. From what I've gathered online, this is just supposed to be a single stuck pixel, which apparently falls within the acceptable range 😕 Does anyone know how the process works if I want to swap this out for a different model? I'm worried they won't honor the warranty for an exchange. I still have the original box, though I don't have the protective plastic wraps that came inside.

Update: I noticed that when I press on that specific spot, the pixel does disappear for a split second, but then it pops right back. Honestly, I'm a little nervous to press any harder for fear of actually cracking the screen. Any advice on what my next move should be?

Quick update: I just tried what darkowl72 suggested, but no luck—it didn't work. I also swung by the General Electric service center, but they won't touch it because the dead pixel isn't centered; apparently, since it's off to the side, it doesn't qualify for a replacement. Basically, it's just a total piece of junk.
Now I'm honestly at a loss. I’ll probably end up tossing it out with the bulk trash because that little dot is driving me absolutely insane; I can't even look at the screen without noticing it. I've already wasted time running those various pixel-fixer programs, but nothing helped. One last thing: Sony isn't even getting through my front door anymore. After this experience with this monitor, they're officially dead to me.

Honestly, I’ve been having nothing but absolute garbage experiences with Samsung gear lately, like, it’s actually getting ridiculous. I can’t even wrap my head around how such a massive company can be this much of a disaster... everything I touch from Samsung just dies on me or won't even turn on in the first place...

So, what's the deal with Apple monitors?

I’ve heard great things about Apple—apparently, they have zero tolerance for a dead pixel. So, I should be getting a 20-inch Apple monitor delivered sometime in the next few days. As for this Sony... I’m honestly not sure what I’m going to do with it. 🤷
