I didn't intend to hurt anyone's feelings, but I just wanted to say that I'm actually a supporter of cosmetic procedures. I think they make sense when something is genuinely unattractive or if it’s something someone has been bothered by for years. It's not about chasing tiny nuances that nobody else even notices—unless, of course, you're trying to be a professional model or something...So, regarding that girl who asked if anyone was actually satisfied with their results: well, count me in.😉 I'm happy with mine, partly because I wasn't looking for a perfect nose like Grace Cruz87 or anything extreme. I kept my expectations realistic and just wanted minor tweaks that wouldn't mess with my overall facial structure...

I'm really glad to hear you're happy with the outcome.
I'm dealing with a very similar situation, and honestly, I have pretty much the same mindset.
I have a consultation scheduled with Glumicic on April 1st, so we'll see how things unfold.

Who did you end up going to?

Alex Campbell54 said:Hello everyone,

Today marks day six following my surgery, which was performed under local anesthesia.
To be clear, my issue was purely aesthetic—the result of various childhood injuries.

I would highly recommend local anesthesia to anyone; I’ve had two previous leg surgeries under local, but this experience was top-tier because I drifted off immediately. All I eventually heard was my sister shaking me and saying, "All done..."

Now, that specific part was truly painless. However, as many people point out, the real trouble begins once you get home. The swelling during the first two days increased by the hour, and I felt this constant pressure—as if someone were literally sitting on my face.
That sensation was amplified by having to breathe through my mouth; even though I can usually breathe through my mouth just fine during a cold, this was an entirely different beast.
Regarding the nasal packing—I only had the sponges in for 24 hours, during which time blood-tinged mucus was constantly draining from my nose, adding to the whole "magical" experience.
Honestly, removing the packing is a walk in the park compared to a nasal swab; I genuinely don't understand why people claim it's the worst part of the entire process??!

Main concern right now: my nose looks lifted by at least 4mm. Even though I was told that cutting the muscle beneath the lip would only account for 1-2mm of lift, I see people posting online saying it settles over time. Still, I am quite anxious that it won't, because the lower portion was perfectly fine before, and now, looking straight on, I can literally see my nostrils.
Furthermore, the splint is driving me insane—it's itchy and tight. I've already accidentally snagged it with my hand twice (can that actually mess anything up???). I am counting down the days until Tuesday when it finally comes off...

Finally, for anyone preparing for rhinoplasty: my advice is to give your surgeon extremely strict instructions regarding your desired look. Do not leave them even the slightest room for improvisation.
All I wanted was to smooth out some irregularities, yet he managed to talk me into cutting that muscle because it supposedly prevents the nose from moving too much when smiling and such—plus, it lifts the nose by 1-2mm. In reality, it ended up being about 4mm. Not to mention, it only occurred to me later that if your nose doesn't move while talking or smiling, you end up looking artificial... I honestly don't get what their logic is, much less why I agreed to it???
Well, if it doesn't settle, I'll just tell them to stitch the muscle back up... Is that even a thing???😁

Your nose will settle. That happened to me, and the doctor assured me it would go down and refine itself. It's been three weeks since my surgery, and only now is it starting to take its actual shape; until then, it was just swollen.

Greetings, everyone. Laura Castillo7 hit the nail on the head. The nose will settle, and it’s perfectly normal for it to look unnaturally upturned in the first few days post-op. In fact, the shape continues to evolve for about six months. However, I have a different concern. My surgeon mentioned shortening the tip slightly, but he failed to mention that it would involve cutting the muscle between my nose and upper lip. Does this happen every single time the tip is shortened, or is the muscle incision an exception rather than the rule?😕 Or is it possible that the muscle isn't always cut during tip reduction?

So, I was passing by earlier and ended up getting stuck trying to brush my teeth around those stitches on the inside of my lip...🙄 There was blood everywhere and it hurts like absolute hell!
I’m heading back there tomorrow and telling them to just redo the whole thing exactly how it was before... I really don't have six months to waste waiting for my nose to settle down from where it shouldn't have even been moved in the first place.
I'll let you guys know how it goes tomorrow!

So, I guess they didn't end up cutting the muscle between my upper lip and my nose, because I don't see any stitches inside my mouth. At least that's something.☕ Honestly, I don't think it would be right if they performed a procedure without giving me a heads-up first.

hey, quick question—anyone from near St. Louis ever gone to the local medical center there for nose surgery?? my husband's been dealing with major breathing issues for like 5 years now because of an old break, so it's getting pretty rough. we heard he might be covered by insurance for the procedure, so if anyone knows how that works or can recommend a killer private doctor, please hit me up. cheers everyone

Hey ladies, quick question... I heard you aren't supposed to be on your period during nose surgery, but I didn't think to ask about recovery. Now I realize my math was totally off and I'll actually start my period two or three days after the procedure. Does anyone know if that affects the healing process or anything? Honestly, I'm headed in on May 13th and I can barely wait for 🙂), so I'll keep you all posted on how it goes

God, if you don't mind me asking, which clinic are you going to? And what's the damage on the price?

That muscle is cut when the tip is too long specifically to prevent the nose from pulling downward while you talk or smile. Personally, I told my doctor I didn't want my nose to look like a static sculpture; I wanted it to actually move with my face. By doing this, my tip no longer pulls down, and the result is much more natural—everyone tells me it looks like I was born with it.

Thanks for the reply. I don't think my muscle was shortened. My nose doesn't move—it was never "expressive" 😉 and it didn't droop, so it’s still right where it should be. I suppose not everyone's nose is built the same way, even if some people pull off that mobile look quite well. Maybe the tip is a tiny bit too short, but that's beside the point now. Glad to hear you're happy with the results, Laura Castillo7; hopefully, there are more people like you out there. Cheers...😎

They finally took my casts off yesterday, and honestly, I’m feeling pretty good about how things are looking...
The bridge is actually straight now. Everything is just super swollen and a bit distorted at the moment, so it’s too early to give a final verdict on the results.

Regarding the muscle shortening, my surgeon told me to take it easy and avoid any heavy lifting for now. I can't help but wonder if he made the right call, though. Apparently, the real effects of those adjustments don't even show up until you're much older and noses start to sag naturally. I still have this nagging feeling that we shouldn't have done it, but he keeps swearing it's better this way and that the tip will settle lower later on. 😕

The one thing that totally caught me off guard during this whole process was how people react when you tell them you got a rhinoplasty!!
Even within my own circle of friends and family, some people were blunt enough to tell me I was mentally unstable, claiming they couldn't see anything that actually needed fixing. Others clearly thought the same thing but didn't have the guts to say it to my face. So, from here on out, I'm just going to lie and say it was medically necessary...
My advice to anyone considering surgery is to keep this social aspect in mind, because it feels like American society isn't quite ready for these kinds of things yet. And if you're someone questioning your decision and trying to convince yourself everything is fine, please, just ignore the comments like: "What the hell were you thinking? Now it looks worse, you should've just given me the money instead!" 🙂

Hey everyone!
So, I had my rhinoplasty back in August last year at this private clinic over in Arcadia.
Honestly, I’m pretty stoked with how it turned out, especially looking at my profile. But there's one thing... my nostrils have always been pretty wide, and they’re still really bothering me. I wanted to get your take—do you think I should go through with narrowing them down?
The doctor actually mentioned he could do it for free, like, it's already bundled into the initial price.
My only hesitation is that they have to make these tiny incisions, which means leaving behind little scars... but seriously, I feel like they're just too big, like actual holes!
I'd really appreciate some honest feedback and comments. What do you guys think of my nose, and would you personally opt for that extra procedure?

He couldn't do it all in one go because he’d have to cut from the inside (to fix the nasal bone alignment) AND from the outside (to shrink the nostrils). They don't do that because there's a real risk of cutting off blood flow, which could cause the nose to turn dark. That's why you have to wait at least three months after the surgery, and honestly, I just can't make up my mind. Has anyone actually gone through this? Can you see the scars, and what does the end result actually look like?

Hey! From everything I've heard, the scarring shouldn't be visible, though I guess that really comes down to how skilled your surgeon is... though I can't say for sure. 🙄 And as for the narrowing part, if you ask me, it doesn't make much sense to get nose surgery and then leave the one thing that bothers you right there on your face, right? Besides, you've already paid for the procedure, so at least you don't have to worry about the money side of things anymore. 🙂.. my advice would be to just go for it so you can finally stop stressing over whether they're too big or not... but then again, you're the one who knows best how much this weighs on you, so the final call is yours. ☕

If you ask me, there's no need to mess with the nostrils.
They just stick out a tiny bit from the side—you can see it if you look inside the nose, but it’s negligible. They aren't actually big, and I suspect once the swelling fully subsides and everything settles, it'll look perfect—though even now, it's fine.
I actually had my nose done too, and mine are even wider, though more elongated.
From what I gather, your main issue was the bump, and you've successfully fixed that—now you have a lovely, cute little nose.😉
So, that's just my two cents.😉

Thanks for all the comments, honestly hoping for more. I feel like they stick out a bit too much from the front of my nose, but I doubt shrinking the bridge would even fix it. Like *Adam Johnson* mentioned, it's not really about the size, it's just that they're positioned way too far forward because of how the nostrils are shaped. How does my nose look to everyone else? Is it super noticeable to you guys?

Hey, my husband and I just went for a consultation with the doctor in San Diego—still feeling like it might be a bit pricey, if you don't mind me asking—so how much did he charge you and what's your take on him? Are you actually happy with his work? Just asking because we found him online and don't know anyone he's operated on, though honestly, your nose looks great🙂

Ha! I finally spotted "my nose," specifically the left side. The base is totally normal, but the tip is nearly twice as wide—it’s got this weird indentation running right down the middle, making it look more like a backside than a nose. 🙄

http://www.plasticsurgerypa.com/Disp...noplasty_1.jpg
If you listen to what some American surgeons suggest, all they want to do is just pull the skin back and trim away the excess cartilage.
(though looking at the photo, it seems like they were trying to narrow things even further...)

Does anyone actually know who performs procedures like this? I’ve been scrolling through various high-end clinic websites, but everyone seems obsessed with fixing bumps, crooked noses, or deviations. That isn't my issue at all.
Honestly, I'm a little nervous... I don't want them using me as a test subject. 😲
