Chinatown (1974) - Roman Polanski

It’s a classy film; I really enjoyed it. Jack is as excellent as ever, and there are plenty of gripping scenes, but that lingering sense of injustice at the end just sits heavy on you. It's a shame.

What can I even say? Honestly, it’s a total masterpiece—hands down one of the greatest films ever made. 🙏

Man, you really jogged my memory there. I know I’ve got it tucked away somewhere on an old Betamax tape or maybe one of those dusty DVDs from back in 2000, but it’s definitely not quite the same thing.
Still, it’s easily one of my all-time favorites ☕

"Forget it Jake... It's Chinatown." - that's really all there is to say.

I watched it recently and I thought it was an absolute masterpiece, probably a solid 10/10. It gets into some pretty heavy territory, though; I guess you don't see many films with this caliber of cast tackling themes like incest and the fallout from it.

If I really had to sit down and pick the absolute best American movie spanning from the 70s all the way to the present day, I’d have to go with It's Chinatown. Honestly, isn't Polanski's direction just masterclass level? And having Jack in every single scene? Well, what more could you possibly ask for?

A total masterpiece. Honestly, I don’t even know where to start when I try to praise this movie...
The atmosphere, the plot, the dialogue, the acting, the direction, the cinematography...🙏 It's perfection.
I've always been a fan of Polanski, and I'd say Chinatown is right up there with The Tenant (1976) as one of his absolute best.
