This is kind of an awkward place to post, I know, but I’ve noticed this little bump—maybe an inch or two away from my anus. Or, honestly, it's more like just a hard spot right under the skin. It isn't swollen or anything, it's just... weird. Like if you ran your finger over it, it feels like there's a tiny coin buried under the skin, only harder.

I think it’s been there for a while now, and it really starts acting up when I have to wear pads for a few days. I guess the pad just irritates the area, which makes it painful, but otherwise, it doesn't actually hurt constantly, and the color looks totally normal. Still, it's bugging me and I really want to get it checked out.

Who should I even see? A dermatologist? A proctologist?

Any idea what this could be?

Run to a proctologist ASAP! Look, it might be totally nothing, but it could also be anything, so it's hard to say for sure. Based on how you described it, I'd guess it's most likely just hemorrhoids, which aren't exactly dangerous, just super annoying. But, it could also be an abscess (though I doubt it based on your description), and if it *is* a perianal abscess, that requires a > trip to the hospital and immediate surgery under general anesthesia. That can actually become life-threatening, so please don't mess around—get to a doctor (specifically a proctologist) right away! 👍 I'm really hoping it's not an abscess or anything serious, but honestly, it's better to be safe and get it looked at! 👍

Hey, I’ve got something similar—feels like a little pebble under the skin—but mine is on my thigh, and it doesn't actually hurt. I've had it for about a year now.
