How do I become a moderator?

Why don't you all just gather on Reddit and hash out your strategies and future plans there? 🤔

It’s not that I have a problem with it, but it just doesn't make any sense to me. 😬

It’s not like I’m trying to recruit a thousand new members overnight. We have this small, tight-knit circle, and I'm perfectly fine with keeping things that way.
It all started back when this was just a way for us to coordinate sessions at our studio in Berkeley....

It’s true—those other threads are more crowded because those users have been active for way longer.
Our crowd is still pretty green, which is exactly why the numbers are so low right now.
And honestly, those names aren't exactly easy on the eyes either. :D

We can just move this to DMs. My computer is absolutely crawling with viruses right now, so my browser starts freezing up whenever I have too many tabs open. It's a mess.

And regarding those inactive mods, there are actually 140 of them here :D
It’s pretty logical that they aren't all active at once.
Actually... it feels like they just rotate shifts, probably through some sort of mutual agreement.

But honestly, there are times when you can't find a single one on any PDF. 😁

I wouldn't put it quite like that.
Even if you're tight with some of the moderators, they still have to officially recommend you for the specific subreddit role, and then the admins make the final call on whether that user actually gets the moderator badge or not.

If you’re actually tight with Anderlon in real life, you might as well just take a moderator spot right now. I’d bet anything that half the mods on this platform are just his relatives or buddies from work.

It’s pretty rare to see someone drop over 5,000 posts without them just being mindless chatter—all while staying completely under the radar with zero serious warnings and never even getting a sniff of an offer to moderate somewhere...

Honestly, you've probably got a point there.
I've definitely noticed a few mods who managed to snag their status after being registered on the site for barely a month or two.

I suppose you only become a moderator if you’re sleeping with the admin. 🙏
