Indiana Jones (2009)

This is a massive indie undertaking from a relatively unknown director and writer, Robert Rodriguez, who previously only put out a $400 short called "The Star-Spangled Banner". This marks his first feature film, and judging by the concept art and production diaries (blog 1, 2, and 3), it’s a much bigger, more intense project that the director describes as a Space Western!! Honestly, there isn't much info out there and the teaser doesn't show much—actually, nothing—but that makes sense since it's still in pre-production. You want to know more...

Movie Trailer

Dust swirls down a lonely, empty street. Three bounty hunters set a trap for a notorious outlaw. But the moment they storm the stone building where the target is hiding, they all end up dead at the hands of the very man they were hunting.

To some, this sounds like a story about a time when justice was settled by whoever could draw their weapon fastest. The Wild West. Now, just picture that exact same scenario playing out on a distant planet in another galaxy.

Award-Winning Writer, Producer & Director Robert Rodriguez presents Star Wars, an epic story that pays tribute to the classic genre of the “spaghetti western” but sets the action against the canvas of a galaxy on the brink of chaos.

At its core, the story honors the legendary tropes and archetypes of western myth. You've got the lone gunslinger, an anti-hero constantly teetering on the edge of darkness. Driven by a life of pure greed, he embarks on a hunt for something impossible to find. Along for the ride is a thief—someone far more complex than he looks, carrying a secret so massive people have hunted him across the stars just to get it. Then there's the femme fatale, a stunning woman on the move who has zero patience for men's nonsense. Finally, there's the mercenary, a guy with a reputation for finishing any job once the cash hits his hand. These four treasure hunters are all going to be clashing as they try to outdo one another to grab the ultimate prize.

Greed Knows no Allies…
