My Bloody Valentine 3D

This is a total must-see. So, basically, a horror movie is hitting American theaters in 3D next month—and honestly, just imagine a horror flick in 3D, it’s going to be terrifying. The trailer looks incredibly promising, too, and the movie is called My Bloody Valentine 3D. I'm just crossing my fingers that they actually bring it to our local theaters in 3D; otherwise, all this hype about 3D movies in the US feels kind of pointless if they just end up showing documentaries and concert films instead. 😠...Anyway, here's the trailer:

Baaaah, I honestly thought they were filming a My Bloody Valentine 3D concert, kind of like how U2 does it, rather than just making some remake of a bad movie🙂

It looks like they’re actually going to release it in 3D 😍....man, I can hardly wait 🤣

Has anyone caught this yet? What are the impressions, and is the 3D version actually worth seeing?

First off, the ticket was $13. Like, what? I usually just pay 22 bucks.

Second—regarding the 3D—there were maybe three scenes where you could actually tell it was 3D. It felt pretty pointless.

The movie is basically just a horror flick trying too hard to scare you with loud noises. 🙄

Anyway, my rating is a 2/10. If that’s your thing, go ahead, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I heard from a buddy that the 3D is the only redeeming quality of this movie. As for the actual film? It’s just pure, unadulterated horror!

It’s a shame they haven't managed to produce a decent 3D film yet. Honestly, I’m definitely skipping this one...

Valentine's Day is an interesting watch—not a masterpiece, but there are a few solid scenes in there. As for the movie itself, it feels like a mix between "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and "Prom Night." I'd give it a 4/10.

The movie was decent enough for what it was trying to be... basically does exactly what the title says
Honestly, it was better than I thought it'd be—the plot wasn't even that bad

Only thing is, the acting was pretty trash... though, hey, I’m no Oscar winner myself

To be honest, the movie itself was pretty mediocre... but since it was my first time catching a film in 3D at the theater, the whole experience was absolutely fantastic. It made for such a wonderful atmosphere for Valentine's Day. 😁

The movie was alright. Decent enough. The 3D was a cool touch.

I watched the movie, though I didn't have the 3D glasses. Honestly, I think the experience would’ve been much more immersive if I had them.
The sudden jump scares actually rattled me more than the actual gore or killing scenes—mostly because
you see stuff like that on TV all the time nowadays. Overall, the movie was decent, even if the ending
left me feeling pretty let down—in my opinion, that guy really shouldn't have turned out to be the killer. 🤷

I paid full price for the 3D version $10 but this is only 39 bucks.. WTF? 😕 Definitely not worth shelling out $13 for this... It’s not even a horror movie, nothing scary about it...

Just got back from the theater...😁 I heard there was a thread about this movie, so figured I’d jump in and see what everyone thinks.

I went specifically to see Jensen Ackles (Tom Hanniger) and honestly... I got exactly what I came for. A solid dose of Jensen... He's just so good...🙂 It’s different than his usual stuff—he typically picks some pretty crappy movies to do, mostly just because they fit into his schedule around filming Supernatural. 😍 That's where he is . In this one, he couldn't really fail because the movie is such total trash that my friend and I were basically narrating the whole thing while watching... Honestly, the entire theater was divided during the screening...

People can talk all they want about the other actors, but leave Jensen alone. The guy can actually act. Seriously. 😳 He's not just a pretty face. 😬

Regarding the 3D tech—this was my first time seeing a movie like this and I thought it was alright, though some scenes were way too dark. I get that most of the plot happens at night, but the ones meant to be daytime felt... dim. 🤷
The 3D itself was actually quite good. There were a few moments where things practically flew out of the screen (I'll admit, I jumped a little 😬), but about 90% of the movie is in 3D. Every now and then I'd slip my glasses off and some parts seemed totally normal. So, I don't really get why people are complaining about it.

Yeah, the ending definitely hints at a sequel... and I'll probably watch it... solely for Jensen...😍

I need to mention the killer...😬
I was actually pretty surprised by the reveal. I went in thinking the film was being shown from a neutral perspective, but it turns out everything was told through the killer's eyes... Since he had memory gaps due to his mental state, the murders were presented in that same "distorted" way, only revealing the truth once he finally remembered everything.

The film was mediocre at best. A decent horror flick, I guess. But honestly, the real experience was the 3D aspect. It was my first time seeing anything in 3D, and there were a few scenes that actually caught me off guard. If this had been a standard 2D screening, I probably wouldn't have reacted that way. You get this involuntary reflex where you try to flinch away when something appears to be lunging toward you. 🙂

Yeah, I checked it out too—first time seeing it in 3D. Personally, I think the gimmick is pretty cool, though obviously you can't pull off every single moment in 3D effectively. It really shines during those sequences where there’s a ton of depth, like the scenes set in the woods with all those objects layered one behind the other. For me, the standout moments were definitely the flying crowbar, the old guy with the double-barrel shotgun, and that final bullet shot 😁. If I had just watched this as a standard 2D movie at home, I probably would have been bored to tears, but the 3D really gives the experience a nice little boost
