Apologies in advance for the low-effort post.

So, about two months ago I wiped out on my bike and messed up my left wrist. The initial pain and swelling went away after a few days, so I didn't bother seeing a doctor until two weeks later—mostly because it just felt weirdly "tight," I guess. Anyway, got an X-ray, no fractures, just a week in a splint, and nothing really changed. Didn't go back after that.

It’s been nearly two months now, and the pain is still pretty brutal whenever I put it under certain types of stress. If I'm just sitting there doing nothing, it feels fine.

For example, if I hold a 10lb dumbbell with my palm facing up, things get dicey. As soon as I start rotating my wrist to turn my palm toward the floor, the pain kicks in—and once it’s fully rotated, I get hit with this sharp, nasty pain right behind my pinky, maybe 4 or 5 cm down from the joint... Basically, I can't even hold that weight.😕

Maybe I strained a muscle or a ligament... what kind of rehab would you guys suggest? I'll probably head back to the doctor in the next few days to see what they say, but figured I'd ask here too.

thanks.
later!

Okej, can someone at least point me toward a decent orthopedist in New York City? I guess I need to know if these appointments cost out of pocket or if I actually need a referral from my primary doctor first.

thanks.
