Alright, ladies, I could really use some help here... I’m dealing with this issue where I end up eating unconsciously in my sleep. Every single morning, I wake up to find empty bags of chips, chocolate wrappers, cocoa mugs, you name it—and I have absolutely zero memory of eating anything during the night. Has anyone else dealt with this or heard of it? How do you actually fix it? Is this some kind of actual disorder or just something else entirely? I’m looking for some real advice because this has been happening every night for the last two years, and I’ve put on at least 20 pounds, maybe more, just from all this mindless snacking while I'm out cold....
I’d appreciate it if we could keep this serious, please. This isn't a joke; my health is honestly taking a massive hit from consuming this much sugar.

Look, fixing that isn't even a huge deal. Stop buying all those snacks and random junk food altogether. Better yet, lock every single edible item in one specific room or just slap a padlock on the fridge. Hand the key over to your husband or someone else in the house to hide away. Whether you like it or not, you won't have anything to munch on while you're asleep.

Then you’ll just end up dreaming about eating, which doesn't put on any weight. Plus, you'll wake up feeling totally full.😁

I actually stumbled upon some info about this yesterday by pure chance while browsing a news site.
It’s called Sleep Related Eating Disorder (SRED).
Here’s a little something to get you started, but you should probably do a deeper dive on Google...http://www.sleepeducation.com/Disorder.aspx?id=35 😉

There’s always something junk-food related lying around the house because my dad eats a ton of sweets to manage his low blood sugar, so there's just constant piles of mindless snacks everywhere... We tried locking things up, but then I'll go to grab some milk or something and end up polishing off the entire carton by myself.
Is there actually a way to fix this kind of thing through hypnosis or something?

I read this article and it seems pretty solid, though I'm not entirely sure if we even have specialists for sleep medicine out here in the States.

Is there any way hypnosis could actually fix this kind of habit?

A buddy of mine actually has a PhD in sleep disorders. He's currently teaching at the medical school in San Francisco.

So, maybe you could check with your friend to see if they have any recommendations in New York City? I mean, assuming it isn't a total disaster...

Alright, I'll check in with him today or tomorrow and let you know right here.

There's actually a dedicated sleep disorder center available here

Though, honestly, I think your best bet is just to touch base with your primary care doctor first. You'll probably need them to write you a referral for a specialist, and typically, those types of consultations are handled through psychiatry...

Good luck! 🙂

So, apparently this is what they have listed for the sleep disorder center Downtown... thanks, I guess I'll try giving them a call later today and see what kind of response I get from them.
stormyheron4, maybe you could ask them and let me know what happens, either today or tomorrow? And thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

I saw a similar story on CNN where this girl was eating up to nine times a night. Honestly, maybe try locking yourself in your room and hiding the key? Like, if you can't get out, maybe you'll just give up on the urge... I don't know, that's just the first thing that popped into my head if I were in your shoes.🙂

stormyheron4, hit them up and let me know what happens today or tomorrow. Seriously, thanks for the help.

I was talking to a buddy of mine. He thinks you’re dealing with a textbook case of somnambulism.

He mentioned that when it comes to sleep disorders, the top expert in the country is Dr. Danilo Hodoba. (I actually misheard his name as Spodoba over the phone 😂—what kind of last name is that, anyway?) He works at the local clinic and serves as the president of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Well, thanks. I was actually thinking about calling them Sparrow 😁—god, that sounds ridiculous, maybe they'll even let me keep it
—so we'll just have to see. Thanks for all the help, everyone...🤣 What a joke 🤣🤣
