I have to say, I’m actually pretty relieved about the administration's latest move; it feels like the era of "forum euthanasia" has finally come to an end.

So, here's the deal: some of our absolute best contributors basically vanished overnight. And just to be clear, they didn't get kicked out—they actually went out of their way to beg the admins for a permanent ban.

It feels like there’s this general, non-personal sentiment floating around lately—and honestly, it's a fair point to raise: a user shows up today, drops some genuinely constructive posts, and then by tomorrow they’re just gone, permabanned under mysterious circumstances, as if they never even existed. We really ought to have a serious discussion about this over at the PZK, and maybe even ask the admins to add some kind of indicator to user nicknames to mark these instances of forum euthanasia.

To cut to the chase, seeing that specific shade of blue used for banned users just feels like a heavy-handed punishment—though I suppose you have to be someone like Vinko Pintarić to actually earn a permanent ban around here. It honestly doesn't sit right with me; why should the memory of certain members—who, in this particular instance, were actually decent, constructive people who helped build up the Movie sub-forum—be permanently tied to such a negative association? If someone simply loses interest in posting on the Forums, they should just log out and move on with their lives instead of leaving behind a color palette that screams "you're exiled." I guess I'll just go ahead and call it "djorno" then, since that seems to be where we're at..

I'm just glad that’s finally sorted out, even if it took one of the admins stepping in to actually make it happen. 🙂

I’m talking about the Good Guys forum users—the ones who just drift away without causing a scene. It’s not like there’s any digital paper trail left behind (like showing up at the PZK offices to request a permanent ban, for whatever justifiable reason). No, those few decent forum regulars from the old PDF Movie group have just vanished into thin air (likely via a direct message to the admins).



So, here’s a suggestion: if it’s even remotely possible, maybe we could add a little label under the nicknames of permanently banned users, something like 'On Request.' That would clear up all the mystery. If clicking a button isn't too much of an ordeal for you guys, maybe instead of using that face above, just swap it for this:

The whole thing just proves something is broken when people are begging for permanent bans instead of just being banned. If people actually stopped showing up, nobody would even care. At least this way, they make it known they're leaving because they can't handle it. Now, reading some of these appeals, I actually feel bad when someone gets a permanent ban, since they didn't exactly "murder a forum member" to deserve it.
I also don't get why the rules aren't applied equally to everyone. I have zero issues when I get flagged for off-topic posts, chatting, or insults,
but it feels cheap when I get penalized for off-topic stuff or spamming, only to see endless cases where people chat or spam constantly and nothing happens—their posts stay up just fine.🤷

Look, if you actually have a sense of justice and all this stuff genuinely bothers you, you always have options: you can report any post that breaks the rules, you can take it up with the PZK, or you can just shoot a quick DM to one of the supermods or an admin...
It’s just as easy to simply log off and stop visiting a place you don't even like, without making all these grand gestures that don't actually accomplish anything or help anyone involved

You just reminded me of this case from a few months back—some guy rolls onto the forum claiming he wants to kill himself, saying life sucks, nobody loves him, the usual tragic script. I replied by mentioning that I live in a pretty tall apartment building in Chicago, and since neither the main gate nor the roof access door is ever locked, I told him to shoot me a DM if he wanted the exact address.

Look, it's dark humor, maybe a little edgy, but since I have zero points to my name anyway, who cares about losing 35? I won't be seeing another 35 for at least five years. Next time I show up—banned! Brutal trolling, a straight 100-point penalty. 😕
