Bump on my nose

I've had this bump on my nose ever since elementary school from an injury. I didn't have it as a little kid, but it popped up right after the hit. My doctor basically told me that as long as it isn't messing with my breathing, I don't need surgery. I didn't really press him on it, but honestly, I would've gone through with the operation... I need some help here!!! If anyone has actually done this, can you explain what the procedure is actually like? I'm pretty nervous about it.

They tell me they make an incision in the face and then use some kind of metal tool to chip away at the bone until the bump is gone. I really don't want them just hacking away at my face; I've heard the pain is unbearable. I'm hoping modern medicine actually has something better for that. If anyone has experience with this, please help me out because I don't want to be stuck unable to wear glasses this summer because they sit awkwardly under the bump.

From what I gather, they’re just going to go in there, cauterize that knot, smooth out the tissue, and call it a day; the whole procedure usually wraps up in about thirty minutes or so.

It all depends on whether we're talking about bone tissue or not. If it's bone—yeah, obviously there’s going to be some "shaking up"—but that happens under anesthesia, so there's zero reason to worry about the pain part.

If you're trying to play games by bringing up those common nose bumps people get, forget it...
It doesn't matter at all whether our noses are big or our chests are small...

Look, if that lump is bothering you, just go get it surgically removed. You go under, you wake up, and boom—it’s over. No big deal. I actually had mine handled about two weeks ago; they basically just "repaired" the area, and honestly, it was a breeze. I don't even care about the specifics of what they did, as long as it's gone.😁It wasn't painful at all, really. The biggest headache was just having to sleep on my back since I'm a total stomach sleeper!🙄
It’s really not that dramatic either—people get rhinoplasty in the States every single day.
