I suppose I might have understood if this was something happening back in my wilder, younger days... but let's be real—I'm well into my 30s now.😁
I’m a firm believer that you have to listen to what your body is telling you; for now, I am listening, simply because I have absolutely zero intention of putting anything in my mouth that’s gone rotten.

Is this happening with all the meat you buy, or is there actually some stuff that doesn't smell like garbage?

I feel like I really ought to go get my stomach checked out. I was watching some medical segment on CNN earlier, and they were talking about how those specific symptoms can be a major red flag for something more serious. It’s probably nothing, but I guess it might be worth seeing a doctor just to be safe.
I guess when you start dealing with those nasty, life-threatening illnesses, one of the first things that happens is your stomach just completely turns at the thought of meat. It’s like, suddenly, I don't even want to look at a burger, let alone eat one. It’s a weirdly specific way for the body to react, but maybe it's just its way of saying, "Yeah, we're definitely going through something right now."
Honestly, I can’t even begin to tell you how much of a nightmare it was. I was dealing with some pretty intense gastritis and that whole *H. pylori* situation, and man, it just knocked me sideways. It wasn't just the stomach stuff, either—everything felt totally off. I guess you could say it just sent my entire system into a tailspin, if that makes sense. It was pretty overwhelming, to be honest.
Look, I don't know, maybe I'm overthinking this, but I feel like I should probably mention that this might actually have something to do with your stomach. Just a thought.

I went through the exact same thing. H. pylori and an ulcer. Meat becomes unbearable. The smell, everything... it just doesn't sit right. 😢On top of that, I have a severe allergy to red meat.😢👎

Chicken and fish seem perfectly fine.
cosma—honestly, the advice is solid. I actually have my annual physical scheduled in two weeks, so I’ll be sure to bring this up with the doctor then. I did mention it to my endocrinologist already; she ended up adjusting my medication because I was worried it might be a side effect from the pills, but even after that, the issue persisted...
I started wondering if it's just a cumulative effect from all my medications—you know, the ones for my thyroid, blood sugar, and allergies—maybe they're just irritating my stomach lining? Plus, my job is incredibly "relaxing"—and by relaxing, I mean high-stress—so it's probably a perfect storm of everything hitting me at once...
I guess I'm just getting old 😬
