Batman: Arkham City

image

I just wrapped up watching Batman: Arkham City. It’s basically an anime anthology featuring six different stories that bridge the gap between Batman Begins and Batman: Arkham City. Honestly, it feels very similar to the vibe of Animatrix.

It dropped just a few days ago, and I’d highly recommend checking it out—especially if you're planning on seeing The Dark Knight soon.

You can find more deep dives and details about the film here.

BTW, there's a similar project in the works for the Terminator franchise called Termination.

I assume you meant the gap between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight?

Yeah, just a slip of the pen on my part. Thnx. 🙂

How incredible is this!!!
Honestly, the first story feels a bit clunky, but the rest are absolutely stellar. As for the animation, it goes without saying—it’s top-tier. In short, it’s a fantastic release that builds some serious hype for next year's movie. 😁

Was there anything similar for Star Wars—I mean, specifically something bridging the gap between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope? I feel like I’ve heard mention of such a thing somewhere, but I can't seem to track down any actual movie...

Regarding Star Wars, the animated Clone Wars movie hits theaters on August 15th. It’s basically serving as a lead-in to the Clone Wars animated series, which is slated to premiere this fall. Chronologically, the series sits right between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.

On another note, there's a live-action Star Wars series in the works. George Lucas mentioned it's aiming for a 2010 release, likely landing on HBO or Showtime. It's supposed to run for 100 episodes and dive into side characters from the Star Wars universe, leaning heavily into the Expanded Universe stuff.

Does the production team behind this have any actual connection to the caliber of Batman: The Animated Series? I grew up watching it, and frankly, it remains a masterpiece even by today's standards.

I watched this, and honestly, it was pretty pathetic. Parts 2 and 5 are passable, but everything else? Desperate or just plain bad.

I watched it. The animation and the overall atmosphere are easily the strongest elements of this film, but the actual plot left me feeling unimpressed.

Since we're already discussing this subject, I suggest everyone take a look at this as well:
