Hi everyone. I’m looking to get a comprehensive cardiac screening done and I'm trying to decide whether it's better to go through my insurance or just pay out of pocket at a private clinic. Does anyone have a rough idea of what those costs look like privately? I'm 34, and back when I was a kid, I was diagnosed with a heart defect that doctors dismissed as minor and harmless, but I’d rather be safe than sorry and get a full picture of where things stand. I don't really have any symptoms other than an occasional arrhythmia, though that's likely just stress. Are there any specialized cardiology practices or clinics in Chicago you would recommend for this sort of thing? Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions.🙂

I went to see some private specialists at a clinic in Chicago and then over to one in Indianapolis

The first group says I need surgery, while the second tells me to skip it. I’ve got an appointment this May at a major hospital in New York with a specialist, so we'll just have to wait and see

I've got a 6mm hole 😉 that I've had since birth. My doctor told me it would just heal up on its own and everything would be fine, but he was wrong 🙂 we'll see about that

I swung by the Mayo Clinic over in Saint Louis the other day, $233 - had my cardiology checkup done with an ultrasound and an EKG, plus $133 some stress testing too. I've been going to them for a while now. Honestly, their specialists are top-tier.
