Roentgen

Can someone please explain why women are only allowed to get X-rays during the first ten days of their cycle? I went in for a dental scan yesterday and the doctor only gave me a thyroid shield.
Afterward, I spotted a sign in the waiting room saying that women of reproductive age shouldn't be getting any Roentgen scans after those first ten days.😕

Seriously, even when I went in for my dental X-rays, they made me sign this whole legal waiver stating the clinic wouldn't be held liable if it turned out I was pregnant—and then they had me write down the exact date of my last period.

honestly they just asked me about pregnancy and nothing else—I didn't even catch the warning until after the fact🙄

I just hope they didn't mess anything up because they were being lazy😳

I had a similar experience, though instead of just paperwork, they handed me one of those long clinical gowns that opens up in the back.🤔

So you're telling me you need a full lead apron just for a dental X-ray? My doctor only gave me thyroid protection, so I guess my ovaries can just fry for all they care🙂

Honestly, I don't even think they bothered putting a harness on me—it felt more like they just interrogated me about ten different times to make sure I wasn't, you know, pregnant or something. 🙄

It makes zero sense to me either. I didn't get a lead apron at the clinic on Broadway—yet when I went to a different radiologist, they gave me one without hesitation. I mean, wtf—shouldn't safety protocols be standardized everywhere?🙄Are they seriously allowed to play fast and loose with our health like this??
